Obama campaign guru: Trump would love to run against Bernie

Barack Obama’s 2012 campaign manager is warning that Democrats would struggle in a general election against Donald Trump if Bernie Sanders is the nominee.

In an interview with POLITICO, Jim Messina predicted that Trump would exploit Sanders’ stamp of socialism in battleground states needed to defeat Trump, keep control of the House and have a shot at winning the Senate.

You better reel in your people bitch, before we start re-hashing your war crimes, and corporatism.

You are the reason Trump is president when you corrupted our democracy and traded control of the DNC to Clinton in 2008 for her endorsement, something that very few to this day acknowledge even happened.

Obama reel your people in, or we can re-hash 2015 all over again and have that war from 2015 finally fully break out in a hot war.

Your actions are already to Blame for Trump winning in 2016, don't be the reason Trump wins in 2020.

Discuss......

You think he's not directing them? lol
Warren is his pick. She's the most anti-American candidate with the best chance to win---in his eyes.
Pretty simple.

Honest people have been acknowledging for a long time that there's a big liability in the persuadable demos with the perception of Sanders' socialism in a general election. It's untested, so I wouldn't go so far as to say that Trump should be thrilled about the prospect, but in that respect it's better for him than running against Biden, whose demos in the swing states are strong and against whom the angle of attack is less wide.

But Obama isn't for Biden, either. Has made disparaging comments about him and obviously hasn't supported him. A clear non-endorsement.

You are aware that Obama has already spoken out against Sanders being the nominee, right? He's not a fan.

I'm sure Obama is very terrified of your threads, though. Go get him, tiger!

Yeah Obama prefers Warren right? That's the last I heard.

Biden has strengths. He also has weakness.

I don't see Obama backing Biden though, I see him backing anyone but Bernie at this point, and I take issue with that.

You know many people said a inexperienced black man with the middle name Hussien couldn't win as president.

I'm thinking that was a bigger hurdle to climb then the policies that have forced the DNC and entire Democratic party to run on Bernie's platform, because they are so popular.

Last I heard. Over the last couple months, bad things about Biden and Sanders trickle out, and a bit of effusive praise here and there for Warren. He's not at a podium, but it's clear where he'd like to steer the nomination.

Obama will back whoever wins the primary, including Bernie.

I think you mean "Obama will mobilize his machine on behalf of Warren or Buttigieg or Biden if they win the primary. If Bernie wins, Obama will hold his fire. He will not be publicly critical or attempt to undermine his campaign."

And, yes, at least technically, in Obamaworld, that is "backing" a Bernie presidential run.

These are Cucks right here. Know the difference.

Maybe Obama will vote for Jill Stein.

I can smell the lack of confidence in your statement, with the way you qualify it at the end.

Not publicly. One unattributed quote (not even from an anonymous source) that was somewhat contradicted by a public statement. Interesting how your standards on accepting that stuff change.

There were some issues: https://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2019/09/12/warren-obama-2020-228068.

But there's also stuff like this:

Want to make a bet? I say that if Bernie wins the nomination, Obama will support him strongly, including giving a great speech at the convention making the case for Bernie. If you're interested (that is, if you really believe what you're saying), we can hammer out more specifics (how to define "strongly"), or if you want to claim that he won't make a case for Bernie at the convention, we have a simple bet right there.

I think Obama will do that for ANYONE running against
Trump.

I'm more concerned with what he does before the nomination is settled.

And I would kindly request he keep his nose out of it.

This is a childish response to an adult assertion.

I have no idea what this means. I was not "qualifying" anything - unless you simply mean being clear in my opinion. Please elaborate.
