I support people's right to be trans and think we should help them, as I think they need it. But supporting transitioning of minors or even MtoF trans in women's sports was such a stupid fucking choice. Barley anyone supports those things, and almost no moderates/swing voters.

90% of people see it as child abuse and evil. The fact that even 10% of people support this is disgusting. It makes you never want to align in any way with someone like that.

Both in terms of how poorly the ACLU litigated the case, and in how a lot of the medical research the pro-trans community in the US, has been pretty distorted from the European sources they pulled from. The trans issues have been such a losing topic for Democrats because it's just an area where they couldn't keep it real.

On the whole, I believe most of the evidence points that there's a bigger problem on the right of being obsessed with "sticking it to the libs" i.e. other side. When folks are asked to opine on policy, there is a greater chance that a Republican voter will side with Democratic policies than vice versa, but are too entrenched in tribalism to impact their stance.

Buuuuuuuuut, there's a slice of the far left that is also obsessed with sticking it to the other side as well. They got frustrated with Trump winning the first time and flew off the handle supporting any cause that's perceived as anti-Trump. It's been a huge backfiring because normal people don't look fondly at folks who look like comic book far-lefties with obvious cluster-B personalities saying their 2 year old is trans.

And frankly, with so many people elevating racial/gender/etc identity as one's paramount status, more important than their character, it's not hard to imagine that doctors would support things not because of their professional career status and obligations, but instead the racial/gender obligations.

Maybe put in another way, I feel like just 20 years ago, if a biological male went into an ER requiring medicine, if the medicine had different doses depending on the sex of the patient, 100% of the time doctors would administer the does congruent with the sex of the patient.

Now, I wouldn't be so sure if that would apply today as compared to "honoring" the gender of the patient (which is lunacy), and if it did, only because legal repercussions as opposed to the ethics of it.

Anyhow, it's been such a complete loser topic for Dems, having to play dumb when asked what the definition of a woman is like they don't understand the question is jjust pathetic.

Certainly, our position isn't that it's okay to give kids gender affirming drugs/surgery as long as we just don't sterilize them. The idea is that we shouldn't be giving elective surgery to kids unnecessarily because they can't legally consent.

Perhaps circumcision is a false equivalency, but I have yet to hear a compelling reason why. Just because it's already normalized doesn't mean it shouldn't be held to the same standard imo.

I don't recall circumcision affecting the balls, but I guess you know more than me.
And the health benefits are definitely a big factor considering your transgender mutilation has 0 health benefits and only negatives.
