I don't bet on fights, but WMMA is probably a gold mine. It's up there with Amanda vs Spencer and Valentina vs Eye, or pretty much most of their title defenses.

I'm considering buying a farm just so I can throw it at the Vegas bookies.

I think people underestimate Megan’s power, and how sneaky she can be. One sneaky counter shot will sends Nunes stumbling. If Megan landed it. Which she probably won’t.

Imagine if in some crazy way Megan suddenly pull off a Carlos Condit "running man" strategy: keeping the distance, use her reach, avoid exchanges and the clinch game, and squeaks out a decision win. Would be really awesome. Still rooting for her to win.

Yet you'd have to bet a stupid amount of money to make any meaningful profit. It's just not worth the small risk of losing. It's not worth risking 1200 dollars for 100 dollars.

This does seem like free money, but never say never for Megan.

If you put $10,000 on Nunes to win, you'll stand to make around $833 in profit. But it's not worth risking 10k for such a small payout.

Yeah exactly. @Volador said above that WMMA is probably a goldmine, but I disagree. A lot of these fighters are really unreliable, you just never know how they’re gonna look. And sometimes crazy shit happens. Agrapova was like -1400 or something crazy on that fight she lost. Think of some of the chicks we’ve seen, or who have been scheduled to fight recently: Ashley Yoder, Gillian Robertson, Amanda Ribas. I wouldn’t trust them with my money. Plus the lighter weight classes go to decisions more often, and who knows how the judges will see it. Like that Ketlen Viera-Yama Kunitskaya fight.

I’m feeling upset in the air too. I really hope Megan can pull it off.

 

I put a small bet on Megan just because years of watching mma have taught me that there really isn't such thing as an over +700 underdog, so if you get those odds, it's worth throwing out a flyer bet. I bet $25 which is an amount I don't care about losing, but it pays off $200, which could cover a night of great partying or two nights of ok partying.

Also, Megan looks like a highly motivated fighter making regular developments, while Nunes seems to be hitting the bored-with-it phase of being a long-standing champion, so I feel the recipe is right for an upset.
