Nunes/Tate looked like what Holm/Tate should have

This is exactly what i thought. I always felt that Holm was extremely unlucky to lose the fight against Tate. She was clearly dominating up until the last couple of minutes.

Holly looked completely lost in the grappling versus Tate both early in the fight and again in the last round. It's not even like Holly was rocked when she got subbed.

We all love Holm for KTFO Ronda but lets not pretend she was on another level and Tate just got lucky.

For Holly to perfect an aggressive striking style, which keeps someone like Miesha on the end of her punches, while staying at a perfect range to defend TD, she would have to change the way she fights/trains considerably.

This is the exact reason that Holly looked amazing against Ronda, but not so amazing against Tate & Pennington. Ronda played right into her hands by charging forward.

It's not as simple as Holly being "more aggressive"

People must also Remember that Nunes is basically a female Vitor Belfort. Comes in aggressive, goes all out for the finish, then gasses halfway through the second if unsuccessful. Holm is more akin to Machida's counter-striking, which can admittedly make for slow fights here and there, but also displays a techinal brilliance that tends to create some beautiful knockouts. The kind you remember.

gotta agree with that Holly ground game is pretty poor.

Joanna showed even if shes been taken down she can defend, get up and make them pay for that take down.

I agree. I thought Amanda would be to quick and hits hard on top of that. Holly really didn't do anything the entire fight other then try to defend takedowns. I can't even remember a time where she landed anythjng and she could have.

I thought her boxing looked OK versus Nunes. But you shouldn't go in there to prove ANYTHING in a five round title fight. She should have been thinking nothing but takedown to wear Nunes down, that remains the blueprint to beat Nunes in my opinion.
