My brother and his gf were stalked and threatened by a neighbor. The guy posted videos online of him menacing and threatening people. He also bragged about being wanted for sex crimes in other countries. Forget convicting the guy, they landlord couldn't even evict the guy.

I was super close to being attacked by a random just last week coming home from the hospital

In Canada there is freedom to move to another place . There are some cases of horrific deaths that were preventable but there is no country with a similar population and large immigrant influx where that doesn't happen .

Canada needs to lock up and medicate the known mental cases that was the case decades ago rather than turn them out into the general population as happens now .Obviously screen everyone for mental health issues when issuing a drivers license just like to get a gun - they both can be lethal .

While Canada isn't perfect it is far better than most ,travel and living in others countries for several years confirms that.

Now that Trudeau is gone it would be nice to see Canada get back to respecting the will of the majority, not fringe groups .

There are some cases of horrific deaths that were preventable but there is no country with a similar population and large immigrant influx where that doesn't happen .

Canada needs to lock up and medicate the known mental cases that was the case decades ago rather than turn them out into the general population as happens now .Obviously screen everyone for mental health issues when issuing a drivers license just like to get a gun - they both can be lethal .

I've traveled and there are tons of places around the world that are much safer than the typical urban Canadian setting. We are supposed to be at the very top of the list. It is shit compared to how it used to be and I would say much of the social disorder has spread outside the bad neighbourhoods. The systems for enforcing things are overwhelmed and are pretty useless.

We are not going to do shit. We don't even lock up prolific violent offenders who are responsible for most of the crime/chaos, who won't take the meds and can't be forced to. Like I said system is overwhelmed. Its turning into a shithole at a pretty rapid pace for more then simply reasons beyond the crappy criminal justice system. There are already several places around the world, primarily European nations that are already superior in a multitide of areas. Places like ths lower mainland in BC are also very high stress, high anxiety places to live based on stats. Addiction rates are escalating and we are in the epicenter of high drug and criminal activity. Most of which many citizens have no clue the depths of. Yes, parts of Canada are great, but things are going downhill faster then you think. Also, its a brutal place to retire for a first world nation. Anything that requires more then basic medical is hell and pensions are garbage. Education is also far too expensive. We dont get back what we put into this place. Its certainly not the Canada we grew up believing in.
