Train his ass off, go balls to the wall and try to KO Jones, take more risks.

If he wins he really really cements his legacy, if he loses eh hes old and Jones had is number, retire, not a big deal.

Its the perfect time to take the risk and try to get it done, final fight, perhaps the most important one.

Question is, LHW or HW, Jones aint about that HW life tho.

U want cormier to walk off into the sunset with not one, but TWO losses under his belt? Why you wanna do DC like that man?

Lol Jones would beat that old mans ass and make him cry again.

Last time he dedicated himself to cutting to 205 he took 18 months to do so. Because of his kidney damage from his weight cuts in wrestling.

It's well documented.

Are you proposing he fight Jones at LHW in 2021? Or that Jones do what he said he won't do and move up?

A Cormier - Stipe trilogy seems more plausible imo.

I don't think I'd even want to see that again, much rather DC fight Stipe for a 3rd time.

Would rather see DC/Stipe 3, than DC moving back down, because Jones is too scared to fight at HW.

And by the time he cuts back down to LHW, 1 1/2 to 2 years will have gone by, and DC will be 42/43 by then.

No.

DC should retire. He said he wanted to retire at 40. He stayed a little bit past 40, and it cost him his first loss at HW. Time to take the sign and ride off into the inevitable hall of fame induction. One of the greats.

You're confusing "Worst time" with "Perfect time", TS.

This fight makes zero sense now. Why would a guy who just lost fight a guy who he lost twice to already?

Had DC won, it would have been the perfect time but now it's the complete opposite.

Now's the time to retire. Past time, actually, if you go by what Corimer said before. It would be stupid to try and cut back down again at this point of his life and career.

Daniel Cormier was visibly chubby weighing in at 205lbs, his face completely gaunt because he was sucked BONE DRY. Completely dehydrated. He absolutely was not worried about his kidneys, he did a hero water cut.

Everyone who follows wrestling (and DC's career) know he's had food discipline problems his whole life. DC was even willing to do a parody dancing with drums of fried chicken to make light of acknowledging it.

DC could make185lbs if he wanted to eat clean. He wrestled as a 5th year senior at 184lbs and was weighing in a few hours before each match.

Interesting. But you're saying two things: that if he did something that's easy it would be fine, and that he's never done it, even in the Olympics.

But clearly it's not easy for him. If it were, he would have done it at one time or another, especially during the Olympics.

Ergo, it's not easy (for him). Even if to us it seems like it should be easy, and is easy for most everyone, it's obviously not (for him).

It's a shocking concept, that a guy who's wrestled all his life finds awful weight cuts easier than just eating healthy in the first damn place. Paradoxical even.

Exactly. He can't lose his belt, then go down a class and fight for that belt. He's not Frankie Edgar.

This is worded so oddly I can't really make out your point.

My point was he doesn't have a kidney problem, and a kidney problem did not prevent him from wrestling at the Olympics. He showed up fat and tried to do an impossible water cut, which was flat out irresponsible.

Despite this, when making 205lbs, Cormier would still visibly have 10lbs of belly fat hanging over his trunks but do an extreme water cut to make weight. He preferred to suffer and risk dehydration then just eating clean in camp.
