Ya rly....Back in my day, memes were earned....meaning that you couldn't just take a picture and put text over it and claim it was a meme....Memes from what I remember, were just funny pics with text that only some particular pics were deemed worthy enough to be used for memes.

Now a days, any jack ass can put text over a picture and people will accept it as a meme.

Add in Social Media....and quickly Memes were an effective way to spread propaganda/bullshit and masqueraded it as a "funny" meme.

"Normies", meaning people who weren't truly grown on the internet community(internet forums, 4chan, etc) are then easy as fuck to manipulate with memes....They simply don't have the internet IQ to understand that something is bullshit.

Reminds me of Q-Anon.......All the people I see with Q anon Shirts in rallies, are 100% normie motherfuckers....Middle Aged white women/men....Come on, these people didn't know memes existed 5 years ago.

4chan/anybody(Russian Trolls) who knows about the Internet knows that Normies are easily manipulated thru memes....Thus this is our future now.......Meme propaganda....

I mean its really is genius considering Social Media only gives you what you want to watch, and Memes are one of those things, specifically memes that agree with your views....They are much more effective and in your face than your typical cookie cutter political commercial you see on TV.

Memes are straight to the point, and lets be honest.....Normies don't research meme claims...They accept it as Gospel.

So welcome, Welcome to the meme era.

I find it has just expanded the reach of comedy, making it much more impersonal, to some degree. We've had comedians making agenda laden political jokes for as long as the profession has existed, which got given a mainstream platform through the television, which then became pointedly political through things like The Daily Show. Comedy has usually approached politics with a sort of content-low, rhetoric high format, not unlike memes. Now, the bar has been set lower, the reach wider, and there is no need for an individual to be the mouthpiece of the message - it's the same type of rhetorically loaded, usually facile barbs that has characterized political comedy for decades. Frankly, something like The Daily Show really set the groundwork for the meme generation, so it shouldn't come as a huge surprise that people like this funny, rhetorical fluff politics.

Basically, a game that has been played for a long time already has been refined and given a wider reach.

Should visit something like "Occupy Democrats Logic" or any number of right leaning meme pages on facebook. They're like many peoples' primary sources of news.

LOL, the more I watch the cattle flock to this crap, the more I realize how scared the pedophiles are getting. Let's stop pretending that the idea of an elite pedo network is some conspiracy theory. John DeCamp, one our our last honest Senators, exposed a network that began in an Arkansas bank and that led him all the way to the White House.

And I love the guy who explains to the CNN guy how the CIA uses the media as a weapon. I think they cut him off right before "Operation Mockingbird."

The pentagon is intricately involved not only in our 'news,' but also in TV and movies as well. They have been approving scripts word for word since at least 1989.

Political memes used to be funny, but they've gotten old and repetitive. Some memes don't even make sense.
This is from the Meme thread, Maybe i missed the joke in this one.

@abiG I think the TS would like to see some of the delightfully stupid memes you made when discovered how to put text on pictures. You know, the ones so bafflingly awful that even you couldn't tell if they were agreeing with you or not?

Come on man, don't...If it gets burried...It gets burried...but knowing how people are, I feel more bad things are gonna happen and memes are going to be in the middle of it.

I want to be able to bump this thread when that happens, to once again give myself credit and to spread the truth via discussion on why memes are fucking up america.

Meme thread is just pure damn bullshit memes.

I said tempted. If I was going to do it, it would have already happened.
Personally I was all for just banning image posting in the WR.
