Riots broke out in a predominately immigrant Swedish suburb late Monday after police arrested a suspect on drug charges. Angered at the presence of law enforcement, masked rioters hurled stones at police, looted stores, and burned cars overnight, stirring chaos in Rinkeby, just north of Stockholm. Locals who attempted to stop the looters were assaulted as well. Despite the injuries to civilians and officers, police spokesman Lars Bystrom downplayed the incident Tuesday, claiming: "This kind of situation doesn't happen that often but it is always regrettable when it happens.”
How did this happen? Just yesterday, self-assured reporters were telling us that Sweden was the land of milk and honey. Unlimited welfare benefits flow all the way from Kebnekaise as high-pitched kids dressed in perfectly tailored blue and yellow outfits gleefully hand out sweets they said. The catchy tunes of ABBA create the perfect mood music for inhaling herring while lounging on brilliantly crafted and comfortable furniture. Even Plato could never imagine a utopia as perfect as Sweden.

President Trump’s ill-informed comments delivered Friday night about a non-existent incident in Sweden “last night” has become food for comedic fodder across the political landscape. With Kellyanne Conway’s “Bowling Green massacre” word vomit at the forefront of everyone’s mind, Trump’s temporal fallacy was a low hanging fruit.
One article, published in The Independent late Monday, even argued that "America should follow Sweden's example..."
Brushing aside the onslaught of migrant-initiated rapes, the media painted a picture of the northern European state that looked nothing like the reality on the ground. Exhibit A: last summer’s youth music festivals.
In July, “police recorded five reports of rapes and 12 of sexual molestation at Bravalla, Sweden's biggest music festival, and 35 reports of sexual molestation at Putte i Parken, a free festival in Karlstad, where the youngest victim was just twelve years old,” according to The Telegraph.
The attacks were carried out by “foreign young men,” confirmed officials.
The security situation had deteriorated so much that police, in conjunction with state officials, began programs to teach men not to grope women. In fact, anti-groping arm-bands were even distributed to women in what appeared to be Sweden’s answer to imported rape culture.
There’s no question that Sweden has seen an uptick in rape and sexual assault.
“There were at 66.5 cases of reported rapes per 100,000 inhabitants last year, up from 24.9 in 2003,” reported The Daily Wire’s Joseph Curl. “That's one heck of a jump.”
