which brand produces the longer shorts? the other day while sparring in my Sprawls, while reliable, i realized that they're WAAAY too short. it's one thing when i'm wearing my Thai shorts but damn, i don't want my grappling shorts to feel like Thai shorts. i'm 6'2" and slender. so from what i've seen/heard, Nogi and Truth boardshoarts look to be the way to go... at least for length but i don't know about construction.

so will someone please help me decide on which ones to get? also, which brand of the two has longer shorts?

P.S.- i've searched as best as i could for the answer on these forums but i couldn't find any so sorry if this topic is somehow repetitive.

Truth are NOT long. Nogi are decently long. I think Tapout (hate) also make a long short, not sure which model.

ya i haven't heard too many good things about Tapout gear, especially not their shorts

dont own either, but a couple of guys wear nogi at our gym as does the instructor, always fancied a pair, the grappling shorts though not the mma style ones that vitor belfort wears.
i think the styling and build quality of the ghost and oe shorts look exactly right for grappling at that price.

truth look great too but i dont know of anyone who has a pair.

I own both, and I really dont like the fit of the truths. They are short and really wide. The Nogi's are a perfect fit and cut, but quite frankly the quality is really bad. I had stitching come out all over the place. They say they have improved on the problems, but who knows.

My go to grappling shorts are Billabong board shorts. No, they don't stratch, but for straight grappling that has NEVER, EVER been an issue. And the quality is twice what my Nogi's are.

nogis are pretty long (depending on the model).

I love em to death. Be it at weight training, the treadmill, grappling, or my MT, i really really hate running around with my shorts flying everywhere or worse, when on my back, my ass showing cuz of some horrible trunks. Nogis move well, stay down by the knee unless kicking someone in the head, and despite the above kids problem they really dont come apart.

I generally treat mine like hell (throw em in the wash and dryer like crazy) and over an insane number of washes have begun to shrink ever so slightly (or maybe old age is giving me junk in my trunk, who knows). I had the pocket rip on a pair of the old OEs since the velcro was strong enough to keep the space shuttle attached to the ground during takeoff and chris sent me a brand new pair even though i'd had them for a month.

stiching problems happen now and then, but chris has always been an extremely stand up guy with customer service and has always taken care of me. not a big fan of the new slits in the shorts, but all the old shorts have performed like tanks for me.

...cant say the same for ANY other brand.

I own both and like people said before the fit of the truth shorts is very wide and short. my nogis fit me better than any other shorts I own. too bad the velcro is all messed up.

oh yeah and to answer you question the nogis are longer like a little past my knees, but i have short legs so...

the no gi shorts are fairly long, and i prefer them over any other pair of shorts to be honest... i know tapout makes a long slim pair of shorts, ive never tried them but they look decent.
also, the shorts gsp wore against serra the first time, they were relatively long and slim, im not sure what they were however, im thinkin full contact fighter?

ya i haven't heard too many good things about Tapout gear, especially not their shorts

i personally own a pair of no gi shorts, sprawls, warriors, and tapouts. imo the no gis are the best shorts followed closely by the tapouts, not a huge fan of the sprawls or warriors, they are nice but i definitely prefer my tapouts, ive had them for 2 years now, and i have not encountered one problem with them

if you want better lifespan shorts nogis are way better than truths

tapouts long shorts are good and so are hitmans board shorts. Of the to you said I like the nogis more
