No way Swanson loses to Poirier

It's definitely plausible. Swanson has been running his mouth a lot lately, buying into his own hype, thinking he's the fighter to dethrone Aldo (despite his loss to him in stunning and pantheon level fashion), as if he's going to run through anyone. Poirier could definitely surprise him, especially with his submission game.

I think Poirier believes in his own hype also. Just because Poirier has subbed some guys who walked in to submissions doesnt make him some BJJ ace!

I hope Poirer wins just to make the 145 picture that much unclear who do you give the nod to.... Lamas/ Koch Winner, KZ, Siver ? That also launches Poirer back into the thick of things.

He gets careless and costs himself fights sometimes. That's how he got subbed by Lamas. I could see it happening again.

If he's got his head on straight then I think he'll knock Poirier out within two rounds, probably in the first.

That is rather disappointing. I was looking forward to the Siver fight.

I didn't imply Poirier was an ace, just more so that he has some skill in that area and Swanson has been submitted before and quickly despite being in advantageous spots. Every fighter is confident, but the conceit surrounding Swanson's recent interviews was kind of funny from my perspective.

I know it seems as if Swanson has turned the page, but he was in trouble for a minute there against both Oliveira and Pearson, yet his power helped him. Pearson ran into a punch and got put out. Oliveira doesn't deal well with pressure and crumbles when hurt. Poirier will continue to fight until he's asleep. He'll definitely offer more resistance to Swanson than Charles, Ross and George Roop did, in my opinion.

they match up very well for each other and both guys make bad decisions sometimes so it will be fun. Cub gets careless on the ground and Dustin is one of those guys who cant help but get into brawls.

Not as unlikely as you may think.

It's like someone already said, Swanson's ego seems to have grown in the last couple of years, so Poirer might catch him offguard

Never say there's "no way" for Swanson to lose ANY fight. Even if it's a Cody McKenzie type.

Remember this is the same guy who went life and death with Mackens Semenzier. He's a streaky fighter who is riding an amazing hot streak right now. You'd be right to wonder if/when he'll simply cool off and revert back to his streaky ways.

IDK roops mouthpiece seemed to resist that punch quite well....
