It's just unnecessary woke service at this point. Hopefully Brocoli stays true to her word, but more than that, stays true to how Ian Fleming envisioned the character.

The thing is, as far as I know the team behind the film are not making a big deal about this (since 00 agents having replacements and the existence of female 00 agents like that one female 00 who appeared in a meeting in TWINE is already canon in this franchise), it was mainly the media and outrage youtubers making a big deal about it. Just seems really pointless since it's obvious they're not going to give Bond a gender change.

2:14 "Epic Conclusion"

No... there are going to be double O's in cinemas forever. Maybe this is just the end of that actor's run?

Apparently the most expensive bond movie made to date, and completely financed. THe producers of the franchise have been carrying the financing for 15+ months.

My guess is that the franchise will be sold to Disney or some other acquirer.

Is this going to a streaming app as well or just theaters?

just theaters. not sure exclusive window but I have read nothing that would indicate that it will have a smaller window than in the past

Apparently people are now reacting to the news about Lashana Lynch being 007 in NTTD and treating it like it's a franchise killing disaster. Here's a couple of things wrong with this take on face value:

1. We've known about this months ago, this isn't new information.
2. Spectre ended in a way that made many fans speculate whether Bond was quitting MI6.
3. This is mainly serving as a plot point for the film to explain what happen after Bond retired and before he comes back to the game.
4. Barbara Brocoli who is the producer on the entire franchise and has final say on what's in or out in the films has openly stated recently that Bond will never be played by a woman.

all of this.

I think it'll be pretty good.
But I have my worries about it.

This is the first time a new James Bond film has come out and I have absolutely no interest in seeing it. I probably will just because it's 007 and I love this franchise, but I'll be damned if they get my money for it.

Is this the movie where they replace Bond with some black chick?

If so, I think it's high time they make a movie about Malcolm X and cast a Mexican Jew in the main role.

She replaced him because he quit at the end of Spectre and replacing inactive 00 agents with new ones isn't a new concept in the franchise and the producers confirmed Bond will always be played by a male actor. So, don't jump to conclusions.

Why? Because of the whole female 007 plot point? If so, I think you're jumping to conclusions based on some nonsense people spout online.

The only reason I might not see it when it comes out in cinemas is because Egypt is going through a 4th wave of the pandemic and knowing how many people here don't follow proper safety precautions, I'm not comfortable going to a cinema as of late.

Going to see the movie on the opening night, Thursday 0:07 sharp. Not getting my hopes up, regardless of being a Bond franchise fan. Spectre was such a dissapointment and only Bond movie I saw once. I was so pumped for that probably because Skyfall set the bar so high. This time I am not reading any reviews and not watching any trailers.

Eventually the old producers/franchise owners will die or sell off and for sure at that point they'll mix it up. With the success of the all girls Ghostbusters, why wouldn't they?

Well, saw it earlier today. Didn't feel like a 2:43 long movie. It's extremely packed with action. It's very obvious it was the most expensive movie of the franchise. Beautifuly filmed. Craig looks better than in Spectre. I loved some Bond nostalgia elements - OHMS and Living Daylights to name but a few. I hated Spectre mainly because of Léa Seydoux. Well in NTTD there's plenty more of her and she looks even more retarded. I was so hoping they would kill her in the opening sequence but no such luck. Ana de Armas fucking steals the movie. By far the best female character. I absolutely hated the political correctness shoved down the viewers' throats and was again dissapointed with the villain character besides casting a very good actor in that role. IMHO Casino Royale and Spectre remain Craig's best Bond movies. NTTD can challenge Quantum of Solace for the third spot.
