Can The Pope's Vatican Redesign Our Economy? An Interview With Cardinal Turkson

https://www.forbes.com/sites/bdoher...interview-with-cardinal-turkson/#52848d8d1ae5

Pope Francis has an ambitious goal: to redesign our global economy to serve even our most vulnerable. His vision of a new 'social economy' is one that discards and hides no one. Can he do it?

This month I flew to the Vatican to find out.

I sat with Cardinal Peter Turkson, whom His Holiness tapped to lead their efforts to build the next generation of social entrepreneurs. Cardinal Turkson is the Pope's top advisor on integral human development and is helping shape the newly launched Laudato Si' Challenge - an initiative to seed fund and accelerate entrepreneurs building companies that change the world.

Below is my interview with Cardinal Turkson, lightly edited for clarity and brevity.

Turkson: Right. At the core, at the central point of this, is a human person.

Doherty: Right. And do you think it's possible to redesign our entire economy around that idea?

Turkson: It is, it is. I mean our economics are about the administration of the household. If we expand this, we make the whole world our household. There's the need to safeguard, plan, and administer its resources so that it serves our world. As Pope Francis invites us to recognize - the household is the whole world. It’s our household. It's our common home.

Pope Francis urges Europe to build social economy

https://guardian.ng/news/pope-francis-urges-europe-to-build-social-economy/

Pope Francis on Friday urged Europe to “tear down” the walls being built to keep out migrants and to create a radical new “social economy” serving the many not the few.

Invoking the memory of the EU’s founding fathers’ pursuit of integration in the aftermath of World War II, the pontiff said they inspired because they had “dared to change radically the models” that had led to war.

Saying he dreamed of a Europe in which “being a migrant is not a crime,” Francis said: “Today more than ever, their vision inspires us to build bridges and tear down walls.”

The comments came in a speech at the Vatican following the 79-year-old pontiff’s presentation with the EU’s Charlemagne Prize for his contribution to European unification.

And after that reference to the migrant crisis, Francis went on to say Europe had to fundamentally change its economic model.

No surprise here. The pope is pushing for an integrated world wide social economy in which no one is left out under the guise of *serving* or *helping* the poor. Yet the multi billion dollar a year business which is the Roman Catholic church refuses to open its own coffers to help the poor and disfranchised.

The Pope sips wine in golden goblets of spacious and lavishly ordained *churches* while the poor he always mentions sit outside of his Vatican daily and get pushed out by Roman Catholic Security guards.

It's all coming to pass brother...

It's all coming to pass.

A religious man who follows the teaching of Jesus wants a global system of unity that cares for all poor people?!!

Holy harbinger of handjobs batman! Someone tell Trump to tweet about this so it makes the news!

Suddenly the left loves the idea of abolishing the separation of church and state.

Christianity is a nonsensical religion more poorly written and stupid then it' predecessor and successor. Which is why such large divide and schism exist in its religion.

Depending which part of the book and new testament you look at Jesus or what his followers say really varies.

He was a Marxist egalitarian others use him to justify close mindness and borders closed racism etc. Others use him to justify anti gay legislation etc. It is really a game. Respect to Islam for being concise. Some use him to promote racial equality and socialism others use him for national socialism others use him to promote free market capitalism. It is all a joke and all they all say they have the 'real christianity'. This has been going on forever.

Not disagreeing with any of that.

My point is the pope basically saying "we should all live as one and take care of the weak and poor" isn't shocking, news, or thread-worthy in anyway. Of course he's gonna say that.

Here they come again.

Christians just love to pretend they are besieged Jews in first century CE Rome. They dont seem to know that the propagators of their belief system already saw the one world government called Rome, because they were idiots who knew nothing about our world.

Well in fairness, when you make a system based on profiting off a lie, there's a big incentive to deny reality as much as possible.

Growing up as a christian child in America, I really thought this nation was hostile. All the adults used the metaphor of godly armor from the bible, pretending as if my generation was the bulwark against the heathens of America. They neglected to tell me America, a secular Republic, is inhabited by like 75% christians.

American Jesus is different.

Instead of handing out bread to the needy, he hands out bootstraps.

And I want to bang Emma Ratajowski. Papa and I have roughly the same chance of seeing our dreams come true;)

Do you remember what you were saying in defense of churches in my Tacoma homeless thread?

Yeah I said they should be doing something about it.

Funny thing is though why aren't you bemoaning the Catholics? Or do you like the idea of the Vatican running a world wide economic system?

They were on to something you lack the ability to acknowledge.

Ephesians 6 : 12
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

If you perpetuate the whole "prosecuted minority" bit even when you're 99% of the population, it just makes getting rid of that 1% so much easier. They're definitely playing the long game.

"But Jesus.... I don't have any boots." said the immigrant.

"Well go fucking make some Carlos, this isn't 'land of the handouts, home of the free shit'. God, it's like people come here looking for miracles...." Jesus responded.

"Yes son" asked god.

"Nothing dad I wasn't talking to you."

"But you said my name son...."

"Yeah but it was in vein, so fuck off I'm talking to Carlos."

"You shouldn't speak to me in such a ma-"

"DAD I'M TRYING TALK TO CARLOS YOU ALWAYS DO THIS TO ME JUST LET ME BE JESUS!!!"

".... whatever. Stupid teenagers, I should nail that little fucker to a piece of wood or something...." muttered god under his breath.

"Um.... can you ask that sky voice if he can like, have it rain food or something?" Juan asked.

"I'm this close to telling him to give you the plague Carlos, do you want these fucking bootstraps or not?!"

"...yeah sure. Thanks a bunch. We're gonna like, name our children after you and stuff. It's Hayzoos right....... prick." said Juan as he walked away with his new bootstraps.

And I want to bang Emma Ratajowski. Papa and I have roughly the same chance of seeing our dreams come true;)

Baloney! You've got a much better chance of fucking the hottest woman alive.

Where does it say that the Vatican wants to run a world-wide economic system?

I try not to take my advice, financial or otherwise, from those who are known harborers and protectors of predatory :eek::eek::eek:philes.
