Ther is no one that I can think of that can wrestle Izzy. Might as well give the shot to Khamzat seriously.

Just skip over the guys that have been earning their rankings by fighting in the division? I’m sorry but it’s pretty clear to me whom the people are that have never competed at sports at any level before.

Cannonier earned his shot. Let him take it. I expect Izzy to be a big favourite, but that isn’t the point here. Why bother with rankings at all if any unranked fighter can just get a TS at any time? Just because he may have the best chance of beating the champ. That’s where I will willingly turn my back on the UFC and never return. There has to be some legitimacy to the thing.

Pereira has work to do. Borz is tied up in WW right now. I’m sure the UFC would love to make either fight right now. But, come on.

Strickland would be more of a problem to him than anyone else.

Zat is still an unknown commodity.

Cannonier lost too many times.

every time people think there's no one someone unexpected comes along and rises to the occasion. helax bro, wait for see

UFC MW, LHW and HW divisions are garbage.

Strickland needs one more test. Maybe cannonier vs Strickland.

Strickland, Cannonier and Perreira are all good fights..

Cannonier got his shot, pereira needs to be tested against top competition and wrestlers (but MW isn't heavy on those and brunson's probably retiring in one or two fights) Strickland needs another win and the rest are either beat by Adesanya or too green. Israel pretty much cleaned the division.

This. Besides many of you complain about EVERYTHING. Cannonier vs. Brunson was a hell of a show. The response from many here, "They are so sloppy" "He got hurt. He sucks"

Then Adesanya and Whittaker have a slower chess match and you complain it's boring.

How about less complaining and more appreciation for the skills these guys display and the entertainment that they provide.

The fact of the matter is that both Brunson and Cannonier earned there way into that contenders spot by crushing it in the cage.

Another test seems appropriate. Canon's fighting Izzy next, options left for Strickland are Whittaker and Vettori and Sean's friends with Vettori, so Hobert vs Strickland would be cool next. Perhaps on the same card as Jared/Isreal.

I don't think he stands a chance against Izzy, Rob or Vettori

Cannonier deserves the next shot even though I think he gets beat with ease. This issue for contenders comes after that fight. If Strickland doesn’t win his next outing there is really no viable contenders.

Khamzat is a goof. His fight against Burns didnt even get finalized lollolololollo

It's not like that for every fighter. Not a lot of fighters want a giant step up in competition and prefer to slow roll their careers and move up little by little. Not everyone has trajectories of a Conor, Adesanya, Khamzat, etc. These people wanted to fight the top fighters right away and for Khamzat a lot of the hype comes from a lot of fighters not wanting to fight him. That's why things are different with him. He's fighting Burns next so a lot of questions will be answered then. If other fighters are trying to do what Khamzat is doing then yeah you can compare their trajectories. If they aren't, then of course they aren't going to be skipping over people. But those fighters also prefer that slower process, because if they wanted to speed things up they would be trying to do the same as Khamzat and trying to step up in competition as quickly as possible.
