No offense to Magny, but Hector was so gassed anybody could have finished him

Lombard was literally exhausted after Carwining Magny in round 1. By round 2 he could barely move his feet. Unfortunately Neil has so little power that after like 60 unanswered strikes he still couldn't stop the fight and Hector just lost from pure exhaustion than anything else.

Kudos to Magny but honestly any fighter on the UFC roster can win a fight vs an opponent that is THAT gassed. But Magny was able to survive so good on him and congrats.

BTW: if you have never trained before, when you are THAT gassed, the only thing keeping you in the fight is pure heart. The brain can no longer even function because the oxygen demand of the body is so high. Every muscle is on fire and feels numb as if you couldn't move a limb if you wanted to.

I'd rather a fighter tap out to exhaustion than become a highlight reel and help overrate the person that beat them. Overeem should have tapped after the ref didn't call the Browne fight and Lombard should have just went ballistic in that 1st, possibly even just getting DQ'd for putting Magny out with back of the head shots, and tapped if it didn't work. Why take unnecessary damage and give your opponent the satisfaction of feeling like a winner for beating on a corpse?
