No Knock warrant kills another innocent person

A older man's home had been robbed 2 days prior

The thief turned himself in and said he found meth in the vehicle he stole from the house.

SWAT agents did a no knock warrant at midnight, no sirens, no lights, etc..

Home owner thought the burglars from are back to do a home invasion.

Armed himself, but never shot his weapon while SWAT broke in the house and shot the man dead.

44 hours of searching the home and they did not find any trace of any contraband or Paraphernalia and zero evidence of the homeowner shooting his weapon.

So, now the man is dead and police report is shady.

And it should be said every single time.

No-knocks must be used only in the most dangerous cases with the most damning suspicion. This is a very real slippery slope that is getting people killed for no good reason.

No-knocks are very regularly used going off of nothing but the rumor of a criminal or a vindictive neighbor or girlfriend.

It is definitely a police-state style action. Sadly, cops will not stop doing it until enough of them are killed by homeowners, or until they kill enough innocent people. It puts people in the position of having to consider the upside of our cops being killed.

its ridiculously easy to get any kind of warrant and it shouldnt be. i had a warrant served on a house i used to live in when i was younger because a neighbour didnt like how we partied every weekend. he told the cops we had guns and a grow op. It wasnt a no knock warrant but they trashed the entire place, found nothing but a couple grams of weed and ended up charging everybody who lived in the house with it (later dropped but doesnt mean we didnt have to go thru hell and spend a bunch of $ for this nonsense).

There should be documented justification as to why the criminal may not be caught or why the officers may be in danger during a regularly carried-out search.
