No f'in way Marvin beats Izzy

Izzy certainly looks like he's improved more at MMA than Vettori since they fought last time. Izzy would likely tune him up bad on their feet and not be taken down so easily.

one he found a way to land that big left , it seemed to really open up the takedowns regardless of how he set it up. Hollands only response was erratic head movement which seemingly allowed Marvin easy access to his hips every time

Jan also has significantly better striking defense - especially against leg kicks - than Vettori.

Before he won against Israel, he also beat Dominick Reyes, who's a very good striker himself.
 
Agreed. Vettoris durability is his biggest strength, but Adesanya finishes him easy if he comes in this sloppy.

Plus he's a similar striker to jan, people should know by now that izzy doesn,t do good against guys that don't overestend. Izzy got caught a bunch of times by this same techniques in their first fight
 
Till would also put a bad beating on Vettori
 
For sure Dana will probably put Vettori VS Brunson and cut the loser.

For sure - people still riding that israel dick hard. He's very good (israel) but he's also very beatable and the blueprint is out there. Marvin has heavy hands, keeps it simple, good counter striking with his hands and is physically a bull who proved tonight he can go at a decent pace on the ground.
 
Marvin just needs to study the Jan fight, Izzy's TD defense isn't all that great, Marvin took him down several times in their first fight
 
I think a lot of people are extrapolating from Marvin getting tagged hard by Holland a few times, but that also discounts the fact that this was a short notice fight. Till fights nothing like Holland and preparing for a counter striker is not like preparing for Holland's style. Holland is also actually a pretty decent striker and a hard hitter, he's just a subpar grappler.
 
Don't see it. Vettori's just not a threat on the feet and Izzy's TD defense has improved since their last fight
 
I can't wait to see Izzy murder Vettori if they fight again. Ill put 100 on Izzy in the rematch.
 
Holland has better grappling than Izzy, but way worse tdd. Marvin will be more competitive on the feet with Izzy than Izzy will be on the ground with Marvin.

As far as how Marvin matches up against the top 5, he's better everywhere than Brunson including cardio & chin. Till is the worst grappler in the top 15 at MW, easy sub for Marvin. Rob is a bad matchup via takedown defense & experience, but he has been dropped/rocked about 10 times in his last 5 fights. His durability is definitely waning. Cannonier is old & can be taken down easily, also less durable.

Marvin, at just 27 years old(!), is still ascending & is fully capable of beating anyone at MW because he can take the fight wherever his opponent is weakest.

lol at people thinking Marvin can replicate Jan's performance. First off, Jan would've murdered Holland who is a bum version of Israel inside 1 or 2 rounds. Second, Jan used the fight IQ of Albert Einstein to land those takedowns on Israel. Seriously, he could work for Nasa with that timing and setups. Vettori can't do that shit.

I like Marvin. I think he did what he needed to do tonight. But this performance doesn't bode well for his chances versus Izzy
