NMN & NR (Nicotinamide Mononucleotide Nicotinamide Riboside) Supplements

I would just worry about the quality. What's to stop them from cutting it or giving you something else altogether? I'm not saying Ebay is any better. Supplements can be so shady sometimes. I've thrown stuff away before after noticing I didn't feel good after taking it a few times.

I agree it's a concern for sure.

Then again most of the 'brand names' supply their ingredients from China these days too.

Well, I've ended up buying 30g of nmn and 100g of trans resvertol

Arrived yesterday.

Not scientific, but taking 1/8th teaspoon of both under the tongue with some mct oil and swirling it around a bit like a porn star and jizz.
Because of the fluffy vice denser powder, how do you take it Devilsson?
Will see how it goes.

I use tiny plastic spoon which came with the supplement which I weigh on a small scale and measure out (+/- 1-2mg) 250mg of NMN/NR and 500mg of resveratrol which I then dump in my mouth and wash it down with a sip of water.

I found this article here that claims NR is a better rout than NMN stating NMN converts to NR anyway. However I found additional information that states that NMN does have separate pathways in mice study in the small intenstine and possibly elsewhere.

I have the option to also buy separate powder of NR and NMN.

I found a seller which is currently offering 30% off from kilo of NR from HHWish store on AliExpress for 90.99$. Same seller got NMN standalone for 103.95. The seller has amounts from as little as 50g to 1000g.

As far as I read oil only helps improve absorption of resveratrol. There's also nothing I read about taking either supplement sublingually.

I separately ordered Pterostilbene on Amazon in capsule form from HMS nutrition 200mg/180 capsules. It looked like buying powder wouldn't be much cheaper if any and it's more convenient. Will see how it goes.

So I ended up getting 500g of NMN and 500g of Resveratrol on AliExpress. It cost $51.83+tax NMN and $60.21+tax. 7 business days to ship and then 20-38 days estimated delivery. Still much cheaper than anything else. This time the NMN comes with 100% (not 95/5 split with NR).

Would be interested to see if you find any difference in the quality, if you can even tell that is.

Have they supplied a purification statement or whatever it is called, the name eludes me.

Reference your response previously; I'm just winging it with a heaped 1/8 teaspoon. The dosage will vary probably by 50mg, but meh.

I also saw the NR vice NMN debate which is what got me involved in this thread.
I've got maybe 4 months of the stuff now, so will see how it goes.

I don't 'feel' any different, maybe less spaced out after squats. Hard to tell.
The decider will be post large volume deadlifts which I'll probably do on Thursday.

Did squats yesterday and went for a run this morning. If I can do a hard run/sprints tomorrow and still get in heavy deads on Thursday and not feel like complete CNS shit on Friday, I'll be sold.

Hi,

Any news?
Any improvement?

Hi,

Any news?
Any improvement?

Difficult to say.

I think it'll be 3 weeks this Friday.

I think I have more energy.
I do have difficulty going to sleep at the moment.

CNS recovery wise is definitely better though. After a high volune/high total load of deadlifts I don't feel completely unmotiviated the following day.

My muscles/tendons don't seem to be recovering as quickly in comparison to my CNS which is annoying. That said, tendon adaption is a slow process and I took basically 6 months off due to covid from any gym work (log in the training section attests to break and recent training).

You may want to try bovine collagen to see if it helps your muscle/tendon recovery. I got a kilo from Amazon for about 30$ and it goes by pretty fast depending how much you take. I was taking as many as 4 teaspoons but have since toned it down to 1-2 teaspoons on postworkout days. I take it mixed with orange juice with a teaspoon of micronized creatine.

As a preventative or to treat something?

I take it as part of an overall nutritional postworkout protocol though people take it for all sorts of reasons. It's a bit like taking protein powder to help your muscles recover postworkout or just in general to get adequate amount of protein in one's diet.

You can also make bone broth base soups.
Fair enough.

Looks interesting. Never knew of such a thing.

Will have a bit of research.
