No I think the difference between PRIDE and the UFC is that when judges in the UFC got it wrong it was due to incompetence or fights were just so close that it could have gone either way. In PRIDE I believe it was corrupt.

Take sakuraba fights as an example. You had to literally almost kill the guy to have the refs step in as well as the clear cut robberies like rampage vs ninja. If I am not mistaken rampage gave ninja his trophy in the ring after the fight bc he clearly new he lost.
I loved a lot of aspect of Pride and they had some of the best fights of all time and fighters but it was also a circus show.
Champions fighting in non title matches and losing ( gomi vs aurelio) and still being champs.
Fighters that had no business being in the ring with the top fighters like giant silva, Zulu, Henry Miller, and heaps more.
It was crazy. It was very corrupt.
    But fuck it was entertaining.

Dude if you think that UFC that is run by the Fertitas a very questionable family that is involved with betting and casinos in Vegas is not corrupt in their own right then you've either drank the koolaid or not that bright,at least for myself I've been watching this sport since UFC 4 long before the noobs hadgotten involved and its common knowledge that where there's money there will be corruption, the only reason there's a waron drugs is because the government is not getting a cut of the money it has nothing to do with peoples health, now prize fighting is no different if a fight goes the distance the fighter that is more popular will get the decision this happened more in UFC than it did it Pride, but the difference between me and you is that I don't fall for propaganda and marketing tactics and I know that they are both prize fighting and hold them equally at fault for corruption.

You were also saying that because Sakuraba took such beatings in some of his losses that somehow that made Pridecorrupt, its a well known fact that in Japan they have a rich history combat sports and are known for embracing the samurai spirit and not having quick unfair stoppages like modern day UFC and this made the sport better and more realand for the record it wasn't just Sakuraba that took vicious beatingsthere was Matsui,Nogueira,Rampage in his loss to Wanderlei and many more, the UFC was actually more violent than Pride at one point but when all the trendies jumped on the bandwagon of mma they started complaining that the sport was too violent and now the sport has all these stupid restrictive rules that make fights boring and often turn into ultimate sparring than ultimate fighting.

I've never bought into the hype that Ninja got screwed against Rampage, even though Rampage himself stated that Ninja won this one directly after the fight (only other time I've seen this happen was Lauzon against Marcin Held). Rampage had way more take downs, two slams, and reversed Ninja whenever Rua took him down (Ninja had some good clinch take downs). Ninja was more aggressive standing and landed the better shots there, but he never hurt Quinton at all. He had an answer for everything Page did, but the same was true too. Apparently this was a last minute fight for Rampage too, which explains why he didn't look his usual self down the stretch.

Anyways, that's just my take on that particular fight. The Hendo/Ninja fight, on the other hand...

Henderson was nothing till he abused the system and took s cocktail of the best steroids known to man. He went back to being so so after getting off the juice, tho he didnt get off the steroids completely.

Cultural appropriation, a brazilian calling himself a ninja. Next thing u know, a man can call himself a 6 yr old girl and use the little girls room.

At the cost of most of his own brain, sadly. :(:(

I'd put Ninja #3 on the list of Most Obviously Punchy MMA Fighters of All Time, right behind Gary Goodridge and Guy Mezger, and ahead of Chuck Liddell.

    Wait what happened to Mezger?

I thought he retired due to some medication/heart issues?

Is Ninja the only fighter to ever Rampage -slam Rampage? I was genuinely shocked, as we all should've been.

And yeah Ramoage even gave his win trophy to Ninja and said he thought Ninja won in the post fight speech. And as much as I love Dan Henderson, that last flurry should not have won him the fight. Ninja outgrappled both of those guys in their fights. Awesome scraps

Dude had a chin of iron against Hendo, then Sergei turned it to glass. Entering that grand prix was.one of the worst ideas in mma history.

I always used that "here's my head, knee it please" fake in the clinch against the cage that Ninja used on Hendo. Wait for the knee to come up, under hook it, then sweep the supporting leg. It's such a high percentage move. Thanks Ninja.

The interesting thing is this fight with Rampage was his next fight after Sergei nearly killed him. He still had some gas left in the tank after that. The cut to MW kinda killed that, though.

I have his Dream 8 fight shorts. Also that decision loss to Rampage still makes me mad.
