Nigal Farage's fantastic farewell speech to the EU, really gives it to them!

I am going to miss his speechs at the EU

For those who can't watch.

"Neerer neener. We didn't like not being a super power and having to work with other countries. You guys were meanies cuz you didn't let us do what we wanted. Not enough bowing to the queen."

Are you Ok? You appear perturbed

good luck to britain trying to compete on their own with heavies like china & USA while trying to keep their country pieced together (scotland, ireland, wales) - you cant keep your royal family from falling apart lol

EU has its fair share of problems but without EU, europe now would be a much different place - much more fragmented and unable to compete economically on the world stage

in the end, uniting all these european countries resulted in more net good than bad - poland, czechia, romania, slovakia, greece, portugal, ireland, slovenia, hungary all benefited hugely from EU membership - rising from poverty to now being economically stable (imagine how much worse would greece now be on its own..)

whats britain going to do now? rely on its former colonies (britain must have great reputation with them lol)? rely on USA which under Trump just gives 0 fucks about its allies (unless you are israeli or saudi arabian)? rely on putin and china? putin only cares about himself and there are over 1.5billion chinese and they make whole hospitals in a week - good luck competing with that

british politcians have proven in these past 4 years (or however long brexit has been going on) that they are incapable - whole brexit thing was extremely messy and there are more open questions now than before

good luck brits on the world scene on your own

EU with all of its flaws is still better than doing things on your own on the world stage

Will get worse.

As for Farage, well he’s so proud of his country that he made absolutely sure his kids have German passports

Did you watch the speech? He likes Europe but hates the institution of the eu. No hypocrisy I can see in still in this.

He's the biggest hypocrite in the EU. He's been quite happy to take €20M in salary and expenses over the years, while only showing up for 1 of the 42 votes on fishing for which he was elected.
Talked bollocks about the WA and not paying their obligations but doesn't want to take his snout out when it came to his €600k golden handshake and €70k pension.

As Nigel said, the Irish, French, and Dutch voted against the EU and were just ignored.

and the EU started as just a common market and now wants its own army.

the globalists will not win. The world may end in nuclear ash, but the globalists will not win. Too many people yearn for freedom

Ireland voted against the Lisbon treaty, the EU asked why, and then changed the treaty to address these concerns.

Compare that to when Ireland voted out of the UK and they rolled the tanks in and brought their british SS over to shot civilians in the back , which they've been doing ever since.

Get back to me if the EU collude with terrorists to bomb Dublin like the scum in the uk did.

"cuz you didnt let us do what we wanted" well no shit sherlock, they are a sovereign nation....why the hell wouldnt they want to be able to do what they as a country wanted to do??

There's a reason nobody takes you seriously, and it's because you repeat talking points given to you rather than using reasonable self-attained thought through logic or historical inference.

youre trying to project your own shortcoming on someone else, clearly

"without the EU, europe would be a different place" yes it would and it would be better off for it, fragmented? is that what you call sovereign nations? where do you get that Britain isnt going to compete on the world market? they are going to do just fine and no...without a doubt the EU with all its flaws is not better than doing things on your own, they dont need the EU ((no country needs its poison))

correct me if Im wrong...but did Ireland not vote to have a referendum and the EU then stepped in and told Ireland that it could not have a referendum until it had its finances in order? imagine that....some foreign group telling a country when they can or cant elect a new leader....

Farage is kind of a folk figure, just one man with a gift of gab, who wasn't really interested in holding any power, but rather in dissolving it.

In some historical narratives he is bound to go down as a destructive force who planted the seeds for Britain's divorce from the EU, but he can equally be seen as evidence of how much power an individual can have, to go against modern power structures with nothing more than his mouth, and yet successfully oppose them.

Whether we like it or not, democracy requires characters like Farage, to prove that democracy is not merely a joke, a predetermined pattern, which goes about its business no differently than tyranny, unopposed by any serious resistance. You're going to have cases where the expected outcomes don't work out, and something like Brexit ends up happening.

You're wrong. We had the vote and voted no the EU asked why, we told them and they adjusted the treaty to remove the parts we objected too.

Compare that to the UK vote......... Oh that's right their government didn't allow one and voted yes for them.

Calm down dear .

I did watch it. Rather poor considering the time he had to prepare it. Yep he hates the institution of the EU but sure loves the expenses he continually misappropriated.

Splendid!

THAT is how you deal with these people. There can be no debate, with someone who refuses to acknowledge that someone might just...*gasp* disagree with them.

Can't just peacefully coexist like they claim, no: You will shut up or else!

These pricks always want to talk down to everyone, it's great to bring them back down to earth off their high horse and safe spaces.

Can't wave the British flag in Britain, because the actual snowflakes hate people who take pride in their country? Stop me.

That woman at the end did a great impression of 'ol @Ruprecht in her attempt to silence voices she doesn't like.

Almost as if they can't handle opposing opinions without going full Hitler...

The UK will leave the EU, but that will solve nothing that the brexit voters actually wanted to achieve with their vote. The London elite will just be back as rulers, slightly better than the EU elite, I guess. The UK will continue on its path of neo-liberalism and their welfare systems will continue to detoriate. Without the EU as a roadblock they can now go even further in cowering their population with survelliance and thought policing. There will be no "reset", no "roll-back". Just further of the same. The UK gained it's "sovereignty" back, but in reality it's meaningless.

Fucking hell this thread is really delivering......Hitler and the SS have already been invoked .

Leave him out of this. @Ruprecht is my friend and nobody talks to my friends like that.

"without the EU, europe would be a different place" yes it would and it would be better off for it

better off? have you been to czechia, hungary, poland, slovakia, slovenia before they got into EU? those countries were legit shitholes and transformation they underwent, in span of just 2 decades, is amazing
do you think car manufacturers would build shitload of factories in slovakia if it wasnt in EU (meaning there is legislature in place to protect foreign investments) and under schengen (easier/cheaper transport of goods)? no they wouldnt and slovakia would still be a shithole

do you know how much EU funds are invested on a yearly basis for infrastructure, energy, commerce, waste management, broadband access etc in each of EU member states?
where would those countries be in regards to human rights, independance of law? how many consumer protection laws there are under EU? majority of those were not present in my country before becoming EU member state
where would they be, each with their own weak ass currency instead of much better standing euro?
what would poland look like now if it wasnt in EU? would it end up being a russian lackey state like belarus?

there are flaws to EU, but they are outweighed by positives
if you dont think so, have a look at all the countries still not in EU and where do they stand (not even on global scene, but europan): macedonia, serbia, bosnia, ukraine, albania > they're all pretty much shitholes in almost every aspect

fragmented? is that what you call sovereign nations? where do you get that Britain isnt going to compete on the world market? they are going to do just fine and no...without a doubt the EU with all its flaws is not better than doing things on your own, they dont need the EU ((no country needs its poison))

britain is going to do just fine? it took you 4 years to negotiate brexit - how are your shit politicians going to negotiate all of the economic (and all other) deals, with other countries, in britains favor if you had trouble doing so with brexit?

and yes, being part of EU means saying goodbye to some of your sovereignty - thats the price you pay for being part of western europe and its morals/standards/ideals/whatever instead of being on your own on the global scene and being entirely exposed to bad actors such as russia

EU does shitloads for each of the countries and is (in general) a good role model to aspire to
