255 squat
205 Bench press
All for 5 reps
in the same time

My numbers are currently

Tell your parents you'll do chores around the house if they pay for a decent gym membership for you. My dad was ecstatic when I told him I wanted to start working out when I was your age.

Sadly thats the thing. They both hold memberships in this gym, and don't believe me when I tell them that a smith machine isn't the same as free weight. They don't respect nor see a point in becoming strong. They work out for aesthetics.

Well, that sucks. Show them different articles explaining why free weight squats > smith machine squats. Do something. Does your HS have a gym you can use?

I'm looking into the high school gym, getting a job, paying for my own membership etc.

The problem with making the explanation to them, I've tried before, is that my Mom just doesn't care. My Dad usually shows mild signs of agreement then doesn't do anything. Kinda like "I agree but theres nothing we can do or want to do"

My dad was so happy I wanted to start lifting, probably because I was a skinny little bastard entering HS.

Maybe try a different approach, like really sit him down and talk to him and tell him you really want it, or ask him to pay until you get a job and you'll pay him back as much as you can or you'll take the payments over after that. He may have to know how much you really want it.

But until you get it worked out make sure you do the best you can with what you got. You can still make gains.

How did your wrestling season go

I got a left pectoral muscle tear in a tourney which put me out for a few weeks. Wrestled at 125 and 121 after growth allowance, had a fairly even season.

Today I went to the shit gym. Needless to say, it was shitty.

I began by cleaning for 3 reps, then front squatting from the cleaned position for 5 reps.

Cleans:
3x40
3x70
3x3x80

Front Squat:
5x40
5x70
5x3x80
Extra:
3x100

The cleans definately limited my front squat, but at least I could still feel them. I know I can go higher on the cleans but I'm still getting the form down and its not too smooth yet.

Inclined Dumbbell press
10x20
5x35
5x5x45

Went fine, maybe a little easy

Deadlifts:
45x10
75x8
105x5
155x5
195x3
185x5

Went fine, still haven't reached my max, still working on form.

Since the Idiot at the Gym thread is gone, Im gonna use this to rant. Some fucking guido walking around calling everyone "boss" got in my way as he did 45 minutes of curls while moaning "my arms are so dead" and flexing. He did dumbbell curls, barbell curls. EZ bar curls, seated curls, high reps, low reps, etc. Worst case of Curl Monkeyitis ever. He was doing abs on ball when I left.

Probably should have deadlifted more, back isnt very sore

I can feel a decent degree of soreness in my legs, that gives me hope that I can still work them while I look for an alternative to the shithole that is my current gym. Chest not sore enough, probably should move up to 50s.

Did no bicep curls but my bis are still sore. New to cleans so it was possibly from them? Or just from watching that guido work bis for an hour.

Im gonna hit the bag for a little bit.

Sometimes these are really easy because I get a good smooth transfer of momentum, but some reps its more choppy and its harder.

Don't worry about how sore you are the day after. If you're having productive sessions, that's enough. Don't look for issues that aren't there.
