Looks like "the man" wins this round. source http://mmafrenzy.com/31745/nick-diazs-nsac-lawsuit-thrown-out/ Hopefully Nick will have his TUE sorted by March!
The athletic commission is part of the government legal system, did anybody really think there was any chance?
Should just throw him out. He can hang out with all the other burnouts behind the bleachers and smoke up.
I hope Nick applies for his TUE. I'm really curious how the sanctioning bodies are going to handle this one. This next one would be really interesting because I believe it will be a self-sanctioned event, so will the UFC set a new precedent and grant a TUE or be to scared of backlash from athletic commissions who don't think they should be granted.
Not really because they are only sanctioning the fights because there isn't another sanctioning body available. I really don't think they want to do it, because Dana loves to distance himself from the officiating and other issues that have to be dealt with. I think its a precedent that needs to be set, if its legal as medicine in their home state, then there shouldn't be an issue with them using it as long as they aren't under the influence the night of the fight. What worries me is that the UFC might be scared to actually stand up and be the one that gets this ball rolling because there are some states that I think will refuse to give them, and as a promoter, your finances and livelihood are in the hands of the state commissions. If the state doesn't like you, they don't have to sanction your events, and it would be a long, hard road to get the courts to step in on your behalf.
When you have high level social anxiety and you are heading into the biggest fight of your life with the most media and fan eye balls on you...MASSIVELY HARD. People with high level social anxiety often cannot even get out of bed if they know they have to present in front of 10 people at work that day. I am no marijuana booster but it is so sad that guys can drug up on all sorts of harmful pharm drugs to control stuff like that but smoking a natural product that is way less harmful is prohibited because big pharma cannot figure out a way to control and sell the functional ingredients.
lol. reminds me of this quote "Is marijuana addictive? Yes, in the sense that most of the really pleasant things in life are worth endlessly repeating." -Richard Neville
Nick being nick and the fight being in Canada won't apply for a tue. The test who knows till after hope he's learned his lesson that he needs to stop further out now, especially if it was weed that shields also got popped for
