It's good that he wants to get involved with the fight game on the big stage again but giving Nick Diaz a title shot would be another low point in the integrity of the UFC and its efforts to push towards a mainstream sport.

I'm not saying Diaz is outlandish for requesting such a thing. People talking their way into fights has worked in the past and he does always try to bring it when he fights.

It would be great to see Nick back in the UFC - but I'm really hoping it isn't for the title right off the bat, despite how marketable it could potentially be

Id love to see Nick Diaz vs Anderson Silva for Anderson's return fight.

I don't think Nick is a guy who should be wasting his time fighting contenders.

He should be fighting very popular, highly regarded fighters. Him vs the winner of Hendricks/Lawler would be epic especially if Lawler somehow wins sine Nick already beat Lawler.

That would be a high drama fight.

But Nick is definitely worthy of high level fights. Not pointless matches against the likes of Ellenberger for example.

They should feed Diaz to Anderson if he comes back. He wants to prove to be the better standup artist, let him prove it. Anderson TKO's Diaz any day of the week.
