Nick Diaz talks boxing in MMA

How Muay Thai fighters throw sloppy overhand rights, can't close the distance, how fundamentals equal success, and how much he respescts former foes like KJ Noons for their boxing skills

and the classic

What ever happened with his suspension? Also what's with the music in the vid?

The music is extremely distracting. Nick isn't the easiest speaker to follow in the first place; with the addition of unneeded background music, it was very hard to get a handle on all that he was saying. Thanks for posting the video anyway.

Summary: There ain't no hitters in the UFC. 209, motherfucker wuh

Diaz bet Conor win vs. Aldo......he swings wild.

"Kick that leg all you want, IM not gonna change my stance and get knocked out" .....OK?

Hendricks KOing guys...because hes sparring kickboxers. But Hendricks is a wrestler not a boxer.

He threw this punch from his waist. Form his "hands up" position...down to his hips....big ass haymaker.

Man knows his boxing. Makes good points but shrugs of other points. You destroy that lead leg of a boxer and there goes his power and movement. Everything is a give and take.

Nick is awesome, but Nate's fight against RDA was a good example of why kickboxing is just as important. You can't only favor one style and leave a hole there, or it will be exploited.

Reminds me of Trevor Smith the Journeyman upsetting Jason Cook the prospect at 34:15 here

Cook also has one of the best KO combos I've seen in recent times 2:54

Terrible...the entire thing.

Nate is the name now. He should hire a MT guy to teach them leg checks. That shit vs. RDA was terrible. Just like Aldo vs. Faber.

Isn't leg checking a big part of MMA? This is top level...I don't get it.

That's why you modify your stance for mma. The back foot should still be agile but the lead leg should be planted and fwd to prepare to check kicks or hopefully use the rear leg for some lateral movement or cut an angle. Damn near every style works with modifications.

Nick Diaz would get killed in a boxing ring against a high level dutch kickboxer.

Every Diaz fan needs to watch this before spouting off about how any Diaz is a great boxer. Here's a lightweight just having his way with Nick on the feet. Noons is so much smaller he looks like a little kid in there, but somehow this little kid just keeps boxing Nick up.

Nick outboxed him clearly in the rematch.

No, Nick was able to bully Noons due to being much bigger, but in technical striking Noons did very well. If they were similar sized fighters Noons could have been more effective. He was just too small to keep the bigger man off of him.

I would gladly watch the video if only Nick Diaz could speak properly and made sense.

Imagine a conversation between Diaz brothers.

- Yo, shjdhe hdebe bitch
- Haha jsdhe hdchgd hdjkehd modafucka
- suehdjkh hdkje jkhxlkd fuck sldkuiue bitch
- sjducie kcjdos jdims diws modafucka doebdi ass didkenfu hahaha

Wrong, go back and watch the fight. The majority of the fight was fought at range and Nick won by outboxing him.
