In late May, former UFC title contender Nick Diaz was involved in a domestic violence case in Las Vegas. According to reports, a woman claimed Diaz “grabbed her by the head and slammed her to the ground” during an altercation that happened in a private residence on Friday, May 25th.

Diaz was subsequently charged with felony domestic battery by strangulation and misdemeanor domestic battery, and was released upon posting bail amounting to $18,000. But on Tuesday, prosecutors working with the Nevada Clark County District Attorney’s office added two more charges: felony count of battery constituting domestic violence by strangulation and felony battery domestic violence resulting in substantial bodily harm.

The news was first reported by MMAjunkie, who also obtained a statement from Diaz’s attorney, Ross Goodman.

“We were surprised that the state filed an amended complaint in court this morning given that there is no new evidence that would warrant adding charges,” Goodman’s statement reads. “Regardless, we are confident that that truth will come to light vindicating Mr. Diaz after a thorough cross-examination exposing (the alleged victim’s) inconsistent and contradictory allegations.”

Battle vs ex in court. Welcome to my world. Just be thankful you don’t have to deal with a custody clusterfuck.

Isn't he being basically harassed into these situations?

Imagine having a crazy woman following you around, threatening you with fake accusations all the time and making your life hell.
Eventually you lose your cool and they actually get what they want.

I had a woman once, during a fight, throw herself on the floor, start screaming bloody murder and telling me she's gonna tell the cops I beat her.

Fucking scary, man.

Sucks for him. Some women will try their damnedest to drag your name through the mud.

I had something similar happen as well. Dated a girl briefly thought something about was off, ended it politely at a restaurant and she then called the police and said I assaulted her.

Police came to my house, I thought it was going to be a shit storm. They took my statement and indicated that there wouldn't be any follow up as it was the 7tn time she had called about a guy she was dating assaulting her.

Crazy bitch

In real world talk, Nick's lawyer is saying: We are going to tear this woman apart in court...we are going to make her wish she never sought charges. You can hear it in his words...and I hope they make this woman and women like her think twice about falsely accusing someone...

here's the thing...If she did it to you, she most likely has done it before...hire a private detector and dig into her back ground...this goes for any woman. more than likely, they have done it before and if you can show this, her case is gone.

I see everyone assuming Diaz did nothing wrong but what is making them believe that?

This is actually great news, now Nate will sign to fight to help pay for his brothers legal defense.

Been there, done that, could have put both kids through college with all the money spent on lawyers.

Where's the reddit criminal investigation team when you need them?

She should be charged imo. Making false statements to the police or something.

You dodged a bullet. Reminds me of a girl I almost dated once. Hung out with her a couple times until I met up with her at a party and saw her drunkenly kick a car for no reason. I excused myself about 15 minutes later and never met up with her again. I find out later she is renowned for being a bat shit crazy feminist and making all kinds of false rape accusations against guys she hooked up with.

How do you know she's falsely accusing him?
