Actually Masvidal did pretty well in that fight and was a true LW at the time. Daley was at least one weight class larger than Mas.

Yeah, Nick would beat Masvidal if it were 2010 or something. But Masvidal has improved and peaked late in his career...while Nick is nowhere to be found. If we're talking prime vs. prime...say the late Strikeforce WW Nick vs. the Masvidal who finished Till and Nate, that's a tough call. Remember, Nick had problems with KJ Noons and was outboxed by Sean Sherk, who has the reach of a chimpanzee. TS is cherry picking Nick's best fights. Also, the young, green Lawler Nick beat wasn't in prime form either. Lawler peaked in his early UFC days. Like Masvidal, Robbie seemed to put it all together and get a real sense of urgency to fight at the elite level in his early 30s.

Nick was past it nearly 10 years ago when he had his last fight. He’s one of my faves, but I’m sure going on nightly benders didn’t help him, since his last fight.
