The top 50 in HW boxing is really not that good. Plenty of slow, plodding out of shape bouncers in the bottom half.

Ngannou had 8 rounds of hard sparring with Joe Joyce and apparently he was good enough to make it stimulating.
He also sparred several times with Carlos Takam, and had an exhibition bout against him a while ago (no idea how it went).

If he sparred Joe Joyce and Carlos Takam then they were obviously moving around with him and not even in first gear as they were in the ring with a total amateur/bum.

He doesn’t even make the 6th round with any Top 50 heavyweight.

Spitting shouldnt be allowed under any circumstances. Not sure what you mean by "late hit". If the ref hasnt stopped the fight yet, its not late. Derick Lewis was not hitting his opponent late nor was Ngannou.

If it works and gets results who are we to question? I'm impressed when Ngannou lands one, his opponents are out. Actually being able to make KO's happen with bad technique or precision or timing indicates more power than accuracy KO artists like Conor/Anderson. Kind of how people knew not to fuck with Carwin after his sloppy arm punch KO of Gonzaga.
