Lots of bitching about a possible Diaz/McGregor rematch for UFC 200 and rightfully so. There is no possible point to it other than a UFC cash grab. If true, it just shows how much closer the UFC is to pro wrestling than a real sport.

How long before we start hearing about worked or fixed fights ala Pride?
 
Pro wrestling fights are fake, Ufc fights aren't.

So what's the point of this then? If Mcgregor can't return to FW to fight Frankie, he should be stripped of the title. Then he'll be free to take as many pointless fights as he likes.
By the way, boxing's fights are real too. There have been lots of fixed fights in boxing.

That's kind of the point though. If everything is simply about what they think will make the most money, just call it sports entertainment like Pro Wrestling, not a real sport where the best fight the best in their weight class. I love Nate but c'mon, I don't believe he's ever going to be champ at LW let alone WW. If Conor can't or won't defend against Frankie or Aldo, he should be stripped.

If UFC fights were fixed conor would never lose but he did. This nate fight is terrible for conor, props to him for taking it to he could have easily gone back to fighting midgets.

Boxing makes up new belts as they go along. to justify what they do. That's one of the things that's hurt boxing for decades and made people shrug their shoulders about it. The UFC would have to make a new Super-LW or Jr-WW title, declare Nate the champ and hold the fight at 165lbs to be like boxing.

What? I was agreeing with you. I know that's exactly what is NOT going on with this.. I was joking about your comment that if Conor wins the rematch, the fix is in. I bet a lot of people will actually think that now with this kind of match-making. That was my point.

It's not a sport, if that were the case then only the best would be truly fighting the best at all times regardless of potential sells and whatnot.

Sadly, the $$$ incentive for Nate is actually to lose. He still gets a massive red-panty pay day AND sets up the trilogy for ANOTHER red-panty extraordinaire rubber match.
