Making no assumptions about the winner of Glover vs JBJ. It could be an immediate rematch situation..

However, we have upcoming..

Rashad vs Cormier

&

Gus vs Manuwa.

Any of these 4 men could be next if they win impressively. Obviously Cormier and Gus have been talked about the most. But if Manuwa or Rashad absolutely destroy their opponents then they could quite easily get a shot.

Thoughts?

I don't think either of the two fights you mentioned will be immediate title shots, but maybe the winners of both fights will face each other, so the LHW title fight can happen around the big card for the end of the year.

Hypothetical but very possible and makes the most sense (to me at least)

If what you laid out in the OP happens, then Rashad probably would face the Jones/Glover winner.

edit: you said "or". Even if Rashad destroys Cormier, if Gus beats Manuwa, Gus still has next.

The division is so weak we just don't know who's going to get the next shot. Whoever is the most impressive winner of Gus/Manuwa and Cormier/Evans will get the shot, TS.

Davis is on standby in case things go very, very wrong.

If Cormier beats Rashad then give him the title shot while the Gus/Manuwa winner faces either the loser of Jones/Texeira or Lil Nog.

If Rashad beats Cormier then make Rashad vs Gus/Manuwa winner in a title eliminator.

Gus if he beats Jimmy

Cormier if he beats Rashad, than Gus if he beats Manuwa. Phil Davis is likely one fight away from a title shot as well.

Might as well give it to phill Davis he beat the Dragon : then give it to Cormier

Most likely

I'd say Gus if he wins. Rashad is Cormier's 1st fight in LHW so even Cormier wins, I believe he should still fight more for a title shot even Gus lose. Maybe Cormier/Rashad winner against Davis, then the winner will get the next shot.

If gus wins he's going to get it. If he doesn't and cormier does then he'll get it.
At this point I don't agree with it going to rashad, he got dominated by Jones last time and his loss to lil nog is quite recent.
I think if rashad wins, and manuwa kos hus he has to get it. 15-0 and never seen the 3rd round is good enough, and he'll have a better record than weidman did when he got his shot

but weidman still defeats better fighters than those who manuwa faced before.

Gus should have gotten an immediate rematch after his first fight with Jones.

If Cormier wins I can see him fighting Manuwa if he wins for a title shot

If gus wins he gets it. Shoulda got an immediate rematch. But nobody is saying what happens if glover wins?

When Glover wins, he'll fight the Evans/Cormier winner for his title. Jones can fight Gustafsson (if he beats Manuwa) in a no. 1 contender's match and everyone will get the rematch they're clamoring for.

I don't care who's next as long as it's not Rashad.

Rashad has nothing for Jones and Rashad has a boring fighting style.

It's pretty common knowledge that if Gustafsson wins this upcoming fight he's getting another shot at Jones, considering how close their first fight was.
