If Chad wins, Jose will get an immediate rematch as he deserves.

If Jose wins, who gets the next shot?

Could be:

Winner of Swanson Vs Stephens?
Both look impressive and would be on a 6(Swanson) and 4(Stephens) winstreak.

Or

Dustin Poirer who's on a 3 win streak.

Or

Lower ranked (somehow) Dennis Bermudez who will be on a 7 winstreak if he beat Clay Guida.

Or

Conor Mcgregor when he smashes Miller putting him on a 3 Ufc winstreak and overall 10 mma winstreak.

So many deserving guys and it makes it such a tough choice as Aldo only fights 2x per year at absolute max so his next defense, if he wins, will be in early 2015.
Aldo should move up to Lightweight to make everything more interesting.

Whatever it is, I hope Aldo moves up and has mercy on poor Barao.

Bermudez if he gets an impressive win, otherwise the winner of Stephens/Swanson. Hard to give it to Swanson though when he's alreay fought Aldo and lost.

Superfight with Aldo fighting for the LW belt.

Let the FW Division clear itself out as many of the potential contenders are still green and lack matketability.

IF Swanson can finish Stephens, he definitely deserves the rematch with the title holder

Assuming no major injuries, changes in weight class, this would be my pecking order:

1. Winner of Cub vs Stephens
2. Winner of Poirer vs Mgregor/Miller winner (assuming that is the UFC's plan)
3. Bermudez if he beats Guida and one more ranked opponent
4. Winner of Edgar vs Penn

Poirier is in line for a shot only if he beats McGregor (If McGregor wins,) so some time would have to pass for Poirier to jump ahead.

I'm assuming in the meantime, Swanson/Stephens winner.

If Bermudez beats Guida he'd probably need one more win unless he KO's him clean.

How long ago was that fight? On top of that it's not like he lost a title fight to Aldo, also the way he lost was in a manner that would never happen again.

agree more or less... but I think only Cub will get a shot if he wins, not sure about Stephens. And hope by the time Poirier crushed McGregor there are new prospects in the picture. Maybe they bring in another Nova Uniao kid or KZ makes another run... And in the long run, I hope Niinim

I think it will go like this.

Aldo v Mendes
Aldo v Swanson
Aldo v McGregor
Mcgregor v Aldo (Rematch)
McGregor v Edgar or Bermudez

If Swanson wins and doesn't get it that is absolute robbery. You could argue his streak is more impressive than Mendes' as it sits. They hesitated in making the rematch because Swanson got smoked but so did Mendes. I ain't complaining though I'm stoked for either fight.

Barring an immediate Aldo rematch if he loses, Swanson with a victory definitely should have it locked in.

After that, meh, anyone could have a go at the champ and I'd be fine with it.
