When do you think we will get the next Batman movie? How many years are we talking?

what are your wishes for it.

Probably 6 years at the earliest.

I figure it will depend directly on the commercial and critical success of Man of Steel.

I think WB and Co are ready to move forward with another Batman film, but only if they can get Justice League going first, but the studio isn't going to greenlight anything soon if Man of Steel fails. I think the logic will be that once Justice League and any 1 or 2 follow up solo or sequels do well, they will use that momentum to launch another Batman film.

If they reboot it, I'd like to see them stay away from an origin story. Everyone knows where Bruce came from. I'd rather see him already established in Gotham and fighting the upper levels of comic book villains. We know he's going to kick Penguin's, Riddler's, Joker's ass. I'd like to see him fighting Darkseid or someone on those lines, with help from the others of course.

My dream Justice League movie would be a theatrical adaptation of Darkest Night (the Black Lanter Corp) although of course that comes from a Green Lantern story line.

How do you start a Justice League without Batman?

Six years is a disturbingly short time frame to do another trilogy/reboot the series and I figure that's exactly what they're going to do, origin story and all.

I really, honestly don't want to see another Batman movie in my lifetime. There's probably going to be some Batman & Robin level atrocity long before anything decent is ever made.

Darkest Night is way to gruesome to be mainstream. Same reason Marvel won't do zombies. Plus you need to understand back story of those (Green Lantern movie should be scrubbed from all of our brains :p). Plus many of the main justice league members don't have the biggest roles in that story line.

I personally think they need to do good with a justice league flick before they move onto more Batman. Lets see how Man of Steel plays out before anything.

if man of steel does good financially expect it sooner than later. last I heard jla movie is on hold until man of steel hits then they may use it as the iron man of the franchise the prequel comic hints at the larger dcu but mainly features Kara aka supergirl

Whenever the new Batman is in production, I'm holding out hope this guy does it:

He was offered to do Batman Begins and passed up on Spider-Man twice. I just want to see him direct a superhero movie at least once during his career.

dc is doing a reverse plan for their movie strategy compared with marvel
Man of steel... justice league... then the other main hero movies

while man of steel is important... the success of justice league will determine
if we get another batman or another batman reboot and whether or not bale
continues... there were rumours he was up for justice league.

If bale bails and nolan doesnt end up directing and justice league does really
well... we tie in batman movies with some one else... if they take a queue
from the justice league carton from several years ago and take the dark batman
from there and use maybe karl urban

i hope both nolan and bale stay as far away from the next movie as possible.

probably 3 years or less. too much money for it not to happen.
I'd go with Rian Johnson or James Cameron.
Just keep the story line with with The nightwing batman thing, probably justice league. I don't want but hey.

That would be awesome

I wish that movies would stop being rebooted and recycled.

What do you mean?

WB has stated many times that they want to jump right into a Justice League film (with a rebooted Batman) with everyone in it and then do solo films and sequels later.

Why not? How is it hurting you?

No one complains when a new Batman video game, tv show, or comic book is released. What's the difference?

It's "Blackest Night"

I'm not saying 6 years is what they should aim for.

I'm saying 6 years is the quickest they could ever do one.

The longer, the better. After Batman Returns and the Shumacher films, the Nolan trilogy was about as good as most fanboys (myself included) could imagine. It will take some time to do something of similar tone/quality anytime soon without having it instantly compared.

Since the origin is so well known, it would not be implausible to do a Dark Knight Returns, Knightfall or even a Prodigal or Killing Joke in film.
