And both have girls coming off losses fighting for belts, this new ultimate fighting stinks.

    Discuss at length.

They should do an all WMMA card and see how well it sells on its own.

Agree with what you're saying, and I'm fine with 207, but 208, Holm vs. De Randamie as the headliner, and Glover, Lewis, and Browne being the biggest names after that, people won't watch that. I'll watch it because I'm diehard, and cards with lessor names usually end up having better fights, but that PPV will be the worst selling PPV that they have had in a long time. I doubt it does 150k.

You could be right of course. But some PPV's will do worse than others. It's just how it is. 208 can turn out to be an amazing card with spectacular fights though - we just don't know.
It's better to judge it after it's happened imo.

I like some of their asses but women's sports in general is subpar.

I agree with what you're saying, 199 was the best card of last year, Fight for the Troops 1 was one of my favorite ever. 208 could end up with amazing fights, but it should be a fight night card that could end up with amazing fights. Just looking at the business side of it, wether or not the fights end up being great or not, it's going to be the worst selling PPV in a long time. Holm is not a draw after her last 2 losses, and De Randamie sure as shit aint bringing in the numbers. Even if the fights end up being good, if the PPV only brings in 50k buyers, it's a huge loss for the UFC. When they lose money, we lose fights. 208 just seems like a bad business decision that is going to result in them cutting back on the amount of fights that they put out.

Ronda is THE big draw at 207. And there are so many compelling story lines. There is much interest. Certainly more than the other BW title fight.

And I hope Holly can get that belt. People still love Holly. And title fights are always the main event.

Ppv aren't compulsory. Ppl are free to buy them, and watch if they'd like. Just as they are free to not buy it.

I'll be watching with great interest.

Holms is on a 2 fight losing streak and GDR isn't even top ten at 135, I really don't see why you wouldn't want to pay $60 to see that.

Woww I like Holm and GDR is cool to watch, but that Barclay's show really needs some other matchups on it to strengthen the card. From what I'm looking at now, it's going to be a tough sell.

I didn't even realize that's the new main event for that card. When I read this headline I was hoping somehow I'd missed some breaking news (which I did clearly but not in the way I was hoping) and my girl Joanna vs. Andrade had been booked.

I love how some shertards are still whining about this, pretending that women headlining is some feminist ploy to 'force WMMA down our throats'.

Dana doesn't give a fuck about women's rights, world hunger or the plight of zoo animals. If women are headlining cards, it's for one simple reason: it makes money. Stop embarrassing yourselves. No one gives a shit about your opinion.

No point in having them last... Everyone I know, including myself are happy for the WMMA fights, so we can have toilet breaks, and get more snacks and beer. We are all sexist pigs.

Maybe a couple of the fights will fall through and they'll just make it free on Fight Pass. Perhaps most of the PPV money is now coming from sports bars and other venues that show the PPVs, so it's an easy sell as they don't want to lose business. It wouldn't really matter how many individual purchases there were as businesses have to pay thousands just to show a PPV card.

Bet this show does better than 206.

Holly is the 4th biggest draw in the UFC at the moment.
