i guess black belt judoka are very weak in the u.s. it seems to me every bjj guy white or blue belt and his mother tap out judo blacks at will. in my experience a judo black is tough and has the solid funda****ls to not get tapped by a bjj white or blue even. i guess i just dont know black belt judoka at such a low level

huhhh....I live in Germany, not in US

And I'm not saying that I can tap them at will, but give them trouble.

Still, these guys are good @ positionning and transitions. It's kind of comparable to wrestling ground work: u won't get subbed, but u can still learn alot of stuff.

Judo guys go for quick sometimes sloppy sub attempts because the ref is going to stand us up if we don't do something. I love ne-waza (wrestling background) and feel that its my strong point, so I try to keep the action going on the ground.

We don't have the time to go for the slow, methodical subs like the BJJ guys do.

Different game, different rules, different training.

I think it's safe to assume that guys like Roger Gracie and Ricardo Arona are better groundfighters than any judoka in the world. If not, then I can't imagine why they aren't winning ADCC.

As far as throws go, in general, judokas > BJJ. End of thread.
