I am looking for a new routine and I like the MWF from the sticky post but I have a question. When it says 1 or 2 bench deadlift assist excercises. Does that mean bench variations or 1 or 2 push pull excercises ie tri push downs for bench and rows for deadlift?
thanks for your help

Good mornings assistance for deadlifts? I think Romanian deadlifts are more effective.

you could also do lunges or suitcase deadlifts. nothing wrong with some unilateral work for assistance.

suitcase deadlifts kill me. I've never done them and not been sore as shit the next day.

What are suitcase deadlifts? Is that where you have the BB to one side of you instead of infront?

Yup, just load a BB, stand with it beside you and lift it with one hand, puts a tremendous off-centre load on the core.

Sounds fun, ive been wanting to try twisting deadlifts. They are in Infinite Intensity. Same thing except you use a DB and you lift it with your opposite hand and set it down on the other side of your body.

So how would Suitcase deads compare to sidebends? Seems like suitcase deads would be the way to go. Is my thinking flawed here?

They're two different exercises. Try suitcase deadlifts, wait a couple days (until the soreness subsides) and try saxon side bends. Sidebends destroy my obliques, and suitcased deads hit my back more.

It occurs to me that you may be talking about regular sidebends (weight hanging at your side) in which case, SHAME ON YOU!

Yes i was heh. Is that wrong? I thought these were a legit exercise because you could use more weight because you dont have to put it over your head? Is it teh gay even if i use HEAVY dbs?
