New poll shows Sanders ahead of Clinton in New Hampshire

He definitely can win it, and you're out of your mind if you think he can't. His numbers keep getting better and better, with no sign of slowing down. You're out of your mind if you think he hasn't got a solid shot at this.

If someone would've asked you in May if a man who openly calls himself a socialist would be ahead of Hilary in NH in August, you would have laughed in their face. American politics is already surprising you. And you're out of your mind if the top GOP hopefuls don't look extremely beatable to you.

A vote for Bernie is basically a vote for the GOP.

You will see in due time how wrong you are.

Sanders problem is that Hillary starting to get the message she started laying out the ground work for a 350 billion dollar college aid plan. Part of the plan is to pressure colleges to make their programs more affordable. There is so much money on the line the gamble is that colleges will work to develop programs that will expand the number of students at a much more affordable range. The return for that colleges is that they get a shot at the 35 billion a year that the Fed would put up. She is starting to talk about plans to go after the top earners with taxes to help with work programs and assistance to poor working families. Its like she is taking pages out of the Sanders playbook. Already Jeb and Rand have attacked her ideas as throwbacks to bad ideas from the past.

Meh, im originally from NH (Seacoast area) and we've been familiar with Big Dick Bernie for a very long time.

Unfortunately i feel like the NH numbers are going to be the biggest from any of the states that "matter" (quotes because i bet many will have differing opinions on how important, nationwide, the "first primary" state's influence really is to the big states)

Anyway, I'll leave you all with this to break up the tedium of the WR....

and people need to stop saying they "like" Bernie or "agree with him" but then turn around and say he won't ever win so they won't vote for him. that's self defeating and stupid. vote for him if you like him!

I can see that it's very important for you that I believe both of those things. There's literally no reason to at this point, though.

Yeah, that has officially become crazy behavior. Of course he can win. He's proven beyond a doubt that he's got a very real shot at this thing.

If he has a different more sustainable plan let's give him a chance.

If he could pick up Elizabeth Warren as vice president, that could get him to the top. Elizabeth is definitely a better woman than Hillary, and doesn't have the scandals associated with her.

If it gets to Trump vs Sanders, by having Elizabeth, Sanders could gain a lot of women voters over Trump.

Bernie is 73 and won't take office until 75. And complete his first year at age 76

Keep that in mind

I don't see how he wins the national vote. People need to remember that Obama OWNED Romney but that Obama appealed to a lot more people. Bernie by his self appointed title of 'socialist' is NOT going to get the vote of a lot of people who warmed up to Obama.

That is just my opinion and I think I am correct.

Having Warren as his VP would also make a great deterrent against assassinating him. If he picked Hillary he'd be dead in a week.

You should repeat that opinion a thousand more times on this thread. Maybe then it will become a fact.

This, lol

Hillary Expected to Adopt All of Sanders' Positions By Noon

WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report)

Being from that area I always assumed he'd be popular there. Can he beat her in big states like California, New York or Florida? I doubt it.

If he starts winning primaries, he will absolutely pick up steam. It's the same thing that happened with Obama. Clinton was the presumptive nominee, till Obama started winning primaries. That's not even to mention the debates. Clinton has been on the wrong side of history with both Iraq and gay marriage. Which is not even to mention:

Voted YES on loosening restrictions on cell phone wiretapping. (Oct 2001)
Rated 60% by the ACLU, indicating a mixed civil rights voting record. (Dec 2002)
OpEd: Disagrees with progressives on corporatism & military. (Dec 2014)
Longtime advocate of death penalty, with restrictions. (Jan 2008)
Now she won't answer questions on the Keystone pipeline.

She's going to get chewed up on some of these issues. "Sorry I opposed equal rights, I hadn't evolved" is going to be a tough sell for the kinds of left wing voters that will attend a primary vote.

As for the "A vote for Bernie is a vote for the GOP" thing, in 2008 people also said a vote for Obama was a vote for the GOP because "America wasn't ready for a black president". Turns out they were wrong.

You quite literally don't understand how primaries work.

Dude he just took the lead in New Hampshire. Let's not pretend that's not huge.

I'm not claiming it's not big news. I'm just saying that the rate at which his support is increasing has slowed. Those are two unrelated claims.

Bernie winning the nomination means Dems lose the war.

Unless Trump wins the nomination or goes 3rd party and splits the Republican vote.

Now that that would be insanely entertaining.

Yeah, you're right. We should definitely restrain ourselves from electing "old" fucks.

Don't you understand that with age comes temperance, wisdom, experience, and a lifetime of reflection on what needs to be done and whats important and whats not? I honestly wish we would reset the minimum age requirement of presidential candidates to 60.

A longview can go a long way to avoiding rash decisions based on crap pop-politik of the current times. There is far too much of that going on, especially with the modern 25-hour news cycle.
