I'm tired of all the arbitrary numbers being thrown around. "The jump from 155 to 170 is too big" blah, blah.

The only absolute fair way is to pick a starting point and go up a standard percentage from there. Lets say we want the smallest division to be 120. My standard increase will be 10 percent. (rounded up or down to nearest whole number).

New divisions could be:
120
132
145
160
176
193
212
234
257

Yes, that is 9 divisions, up from 8 now, but I think they're spread out more evenly and fairly. 10% is a good number to spread out the divisions. Sorry, but I don't feel the need to have 4 divisions 155 and under. As you go up, the spread should get wider - a 200 pound guy can cut more water than a 150 pound guy.

For those of you who want superheavyweight freakshows, good luck. There just aren't enough talented big guys to make that division. I'm fine with bumping 234 to 235 and 257 to 265 and other such MINOR adjustments.

Range on smallest 3 divisions: 25 pounds
Range on middle 3 divisions: 33 pounds
Range on top 3 divisions: 45 pounds

Sounds fair to me. flame away.

these look pretty good. However, math too difficult for fighters

Drop the 234 division and I wouldn't mind, except for one thing. Nobody will remember such random numbers. It's a lot easier when it's dividable by 5.

Every crybaby millenial liberal doesn't need his/her own weight class.

Jones would be at 212.

Beastly.

And Gastelum at 176.

Beastly

I like this!

actually a pretty damn good idea but i would drop 120 on the bottom and make it 235+ on the top because too many belts

But its not that much better than what we have now really... Maybe even worse in some cases.

And make the smallest weight class even smaller? ugh

so if you want to round up or down to the nearest whole number, wouldnt it be 194 and 213 pounds?

120 +12.0 = 132
132 +13.2 (13) = 145
145 +14.5 (15) = 160
160 + 16.0 (16) =176
176 + 17.6 (18) = 194
194 + 19.4 (19) = 213
213 + 21.3 (21) = 234
234 + 23.4 (23) = 257
257

10% to a fw means alot more than 10% to a hw. Your idea is bad, your bad, your whole bloodline is bad and you wont survive the winter.

13lbs between BW and FW? too much
15lbs between FW and LW? way too much
16lbs between LW and WW? Way way too much

basically what youve done is added heavy divisions and then made the gap between the smaller divisions bigger which is counterproductive.

heres the number of fighters in each division...

Woman's Strawweight 38
Woman's Bantamweight 23
Woman's Featherweight 3

Flyweight 28
Bantamweight 58
Featherweight 55
Lightweight 101
Welterweight 106

Middleweight 52
Light Heavyweight 42
Heavyweight 40

basically, youve created an extra heavy division despite the lack of fighters at those weights

and then the two most populated divisions, lightweight and welterweight

youve moved from

145
155 +10
170 +15
185 +15
205 +20

to

145
160 +15
176 +16
193 +17
212 +19

So the most popular divisions youve made the gap even bigger...

so no, kudos for the idea, but its really stupid

If new divisions are to be done, base it around which divisions have the most fighters in and try and balance the load a bit there

the weight divisions is a really simple fix

remove 170
put in 165 ad 175

that gets rid of the 15lb jump from 155 to 170 and puts in an extra division in the weight area that has the most fighters.

The "most" fighters? I'd bet that the UFC roster is spread out pretty evenly. Perhaps you confuse "most" with "most fighters jumping between weight classes"

FLW 130, BW 140, FW 150, LW 160, WW 170, MW 185
[ increases the manlet weight, and decreases jump from 155 to 170 ]

LHW 205, HW 245 (or)
LHW 200, CW 220, HW 245.
[ HW ceiling needs to be lowered, force fighters to do cardio! ]

did you miss the part of my post where i listed how many UFC fighters in each weight division?

here it is again

Woman's Strawweight 38
Woman's Bantamweight 23
Woman's Featherweight 3

Flyweight 28
Bantamweight 58
Featherweight 55
Lightweight 101
Welterweight 106

Gap needs to get bigger as you go up. Every 10 pounds from 130 to 170 isn't enough range.
