Anyone catch this film? It’s the first horror movie that has genuinely terrified me in a long while. It also has a perfect 100% rating on RT.

FYI - it’s not a typical horror movie and it can be quite heavy handed with it’s themes and symbolism at times. But when they pull out the traditional horror elements, it puts other horror movies to shame.

Plot - “A refugee couple makes a harrowing escape from war-torn South Sudan, but then they struggle to adjust to their new life in an English town that has an evil lurking beneath the surface“

My chick and I just finished watching it. 8/10 The way it ended bothered me a lil but it was decent. We had seen a string of shitty C level horror so this one maybe seemed a lil better to us lol.

8/10. I put this film in the same category as Babadook.

I'm not going to explain why because it will reveal spoilers

Thanks for the heads up, bro. I'm always looking for good new horror films to watch but when I checked Netflix earlier tonight I skipped right by HIS HOUSE like a dummy. I mistook what the premise of the film was. I thought it was about a Sudanese family of refugees trying to escape the horrors of their own country by resettling in small-town England & that's it. Somehow I missed out on it being a horror film. I just assumed it was a drama. LOL.

Of course, now that I know it's a horror film that you highly recommend I'll go back & watch it. Probably tonight.

Wife watched it yesterday, I caught the first 20 minutes or so before I went for a nap ( yea, I'm old).

It interested me enough to plan to watch it when I get a chance. Not asked the wife what she thought.

I just finished watching it & I thought it was a damn good film with some genuinely creepy moments & jump scares. So, it's definitely worth watching in my opinion. Especially if you're a jaded horror movie fan like me who very rarely gets affected by "scary movies" anymore. I hadn't felt that gooseflesh that you get from watching a legitimately spooky scene since the first time that I watched HEREDITARY about three years ago. But I felt it tonight. So, yeah, I recommend it.

You should take her up on that offer. This movie is being slept on hard by quite a number people. I blame the weird marketing causing people to not even realise this is a horror.
