I love all the potential combinations of the top 5, but with how many large streaks are active at lightweight, i gotta think all of them should get chances at that top bubble, starting with anyone off a recent loss.

So guys like Gaethje, Ferguson, and Hooker vs guys like Oliviera, Diego Ferreria, and new-get Chandler.
 
That #6 tie job is ridiculous. Islam was a 5-1 favorite over RDA ( and still unproven to that type of number). Lol- he wouldn't be no 5-1 favorite over 2020-21 do bronx.
Charles should continue to plug himself for that title shot. Islam still has to earn his way to a top 5-6 guy.

Psst, rankings aren't how good we think they are, it's how good they're currently doing. I don't think Oliviera beats anyone above him, but he still should be fighting them, not the guys behind him, who also could beat him, but haven't done shit to deserve it, eg: Islam
 
I'm looking forward to seeing Islam fight in 2025, that is unless he gets another boo boo and has to pull out.

Yes it is. Kevin Lee is a ranked opponent and well regarded and Charles finished him, as well as all the other 6 fighters in his streak, with six bonuses. Islam has not had any staple wins and only 1 staple performance during that. CDF also has a 6 fight win streak more impressive than Islam, and Dariush is right behind both at 5.

Kevin Lee didn't deserve that ranking.
Coming from losses against Iaquinta and RDA and is granted a ranking with zero effort.
The ranking of Oliveira doesn't make any sense. He didn't beat anybody.

No, Islam hasn't beaten anybody. Lee is losing, so his ranking should be dropping, which it has been, but he's still ranked. He'd previously been ranked higher, cuz he showed the ability to beat guys like Gillespie and Barboza. Gillespie you can write off for his own streak being empty, but Edson, you can't. That was a high level opponent, so Lee gets consideration for that. So when Do Bronx beats him, he also gets consideration. That's how that works. If you disagree, please let me know what fighters should be above him. Then let me know if their best win has wins over someone that was as legitimate a name as Barboza

That's not how it works.
Donald Cerrone also beat a lot of guys in the past. Should Makhachev be ranked number 6 if he beats Cerrone?
Kevin Lee came from the welterweight and got a present by a number 10 spot which he didn't deserve.
Then he gets a number 8 place by beating the number 11.
Now Oliveira is number 6 by beating only Kevin Lee who didn't even deserve his spot in the ranking.

Realistically RDA May try to avoid this matchup now that he’s 6 but would love to see it.

UFC has been protecting FKL from Money Makhachev for a long time - now that he’s off top 10 maybe thats the fight to make ?

CDF has a more impressive stureak IMO as well. I don't see why there is even a tie. That's just stupid RDA should be above

I wasn't arguing Dariush or Makhachev should be ranked over him ATM just that they'd both clearly beat him. RDA/Felder/CDF should be ranked ahead tho
