Hooker is technical and long, and though I don't think that being his skill set is enough to be a top 5 talent, his defining trait is his heart and grit.
On the flip side, there are guys with that skill level or some potential that suddenly start not looking good when things aren't going their way, and that makes a guy like Hooker a real headache for them. He outdogged Turner by a mile and his relentless go-forward strat really defuses the "sap your energy with takedowns and make you afraid of engaging at the risk of getting taken down more" strat of Gamrot.
Good for Dan. If it wasn't for his heart, I'd put him normally around Turner's threat level, but he's managed to use his advantage to get the right wins and get into the top 5. Not sure where he could go from here though. He have to hope Charles shows some of his old folding, or that Justin's chin is cracked, or Dustin has given up entirely. And even if any of those do come true for him, Islam isn't a "Take you down to sap you" guy. He is a "take you down and finish you" guy, which he's done to Dan before and will do again
