People interested in training their stand-up farther afield than Thailand may like to know that a new gym, designed with the training of foreigners in mind, opened less than a week ago in Cambodia. This is the first of its kind to cater specifically to the international live-train-fight crowd. I have no financial interest in the club, although I am friends with some of the students and teachers.

I've been thinking about opening something like this myself for the past few years, but since some very powerful people have decided to do it instead, I'm content to speak up for them.

Being a Cambodian-American myself, this seems pretty cool.

would be good experience for farang.
what kind of experience do the teachers have.
please don't say jus muay kaad chuek as i have fought in these and they are terrible fighters mostly.

looks ok, eh phutong better teach defence better then he used it, lol.
i think will be nice experience for people to go there.

There's as much experience in there as you would find in most Thai camps; these guys have clocked up a lot of hours in the ring. Chhit Sarim, to the best of my knowledge, has taught and rubber-stamped most of the better fighters in the country. I can only personally vouch for the quality of Eh Phouthang, who is as patient and understanding a teacher as I've had yet.

You fought these guys bare-knuckle, Payak? Where at? The patron of the gym is making noises about taking teams to Bangkok, so the semi-official embargo on Thailand vs. Cambodia seems to be on its way out.
