Day 1 of Fedor's Canadian excursion takes place @ Battle Arts.
The gym is co-owned by WWE Superstar Santino Marella, known as being one of the promotion's comedy wrestlers.
When he was in WWE developmental, he used a Russian MMA fighter gimmick which was inspired by Fedor, which complimented his real-life judo background.

The gimmick was given to him by Paul Heyman (who's client, Brock Lesnar, conquered the streak), who also promoted a worked "shoot fight" in 1996 featuring Paul Varelans doing the job for Taz, who was ECW's version of a UFC fighter.
Later on in his WWE career, he formed a tag-team with Vladimir Kozlov, who also came from a martial arts background and used a Fedor inspired gimmick when he debuted in the WWE.
Kozlov ramped up the MMA training following his WWE release. He is also a friend of Fedor's.
