I wanted to pick one of these up but wanted to see if anyone has tried the new Clinch Gear Monster Crossover or Multiclinch shorts.

My second question would be, what size in clinch gear shorts should I get. I have heard varying thoughts on the sizing of the shorts. As a point of reference I'm 5'10 170 pounds and wear a 32/33 in jeans. I was wondering should I get a size 32 in the shorts?

I'm pretty sure those are part of the Performance Series lineup. If that's the case then all the shorts should be the same material and cut, just different design.

Here's my recent review of the Performance Series Crosshatch shorts:

I'm a size 30 and got 32's since most fight shorts I've tried run small. The 32's are big on me, but are still wearable. Stick true to size and you'll be fine.

I bought the multiclinch flex shorts a little while ago. I am of the belief that Clinch Gear shorts are the best shorts for MMA, bar none. Im also 5'10, 170 and I use 32 for regular jeans as well as these Clinch Gear shorts. The ones that run really small is Jaco. Clinch Gear have never really been small for me

bought them here for $45

I really want a pair of Clinch Gear shorts, they all seem to hold up well and everyone at my gym has at least one pair of Clinch Gear.

I DID however manage to win a Clinch Gear shirt in their monthly drawing thing just now. AWESOME

Stick to a 32 unless you plan on gaining weight.

Clinch Gear shorts are definitely quality! Probably the best shorts around.

^ I haven't tried their new line yet but their performance shorts have been very reliable

Hey Law Bob Loblaw, that was such a great in depth review. Keep up the good work. I noticed that you said you picked up a 32 and it was loose. Was this with compression shorts and a cup? I'm planning on wearing my shock doctor compression shorts with the flex cup underneath. Would this affect the fit at all? I also read people having the shorts fall off, so would I be ok in getting a size 32?

Since we are the same size, did you find that the waist was just right, loose or the shorts simply fall off? I'm planning on wearing them with the shock doctors compression shorts and flex cup underneath, would this change the sizing I should get? As a point of reference I wear a 34 in Jaco, and a size 32 in Sprawls, both while wearing the shock doctors.

I don't plan on gaining weight, if anything I might drop a few pounds just for grappling tournaments sometime down the road, but I'm in no way ready since coming back from injuries.

Hey bob, just another question, i noticed from the pictures the material and texture of the shorts seem to be comparable to the jaco shorts. I know if velcro would get caught on it, it could ruin them. Also the white flex panel areas, do they stain easily, and do they get transparent as you sweat?

My Jacos Resurgence shorts fell apart after two weeks of use, so no, the CG's are much higher quality, and are more stretchy.

The CG shorts felt fine over my Guardian cup, they weren't falling off then. But in the gym while working out they would sag.

Just don't wash it with mud and they shouldn't stain. And they haven't shown any skin that I've noticed while being sweaty.

Which shorts would you say the clinch gears thickness are comparable to?

clinch gear shorts are great, if you have any problems with your shorts; there customer service will help you out. lifetime warranty if you experience any defects.

I was planning on buying them on fighterwarehouse because it is free shipping to Canada, as opposed to the clinch gear website which is like $20-30 if i'm not mistaken
