Random Summary of People that "Practicing Christians" have slaughtered throughout history

stupid thread is stupid. religion was not the main motivation of any of the important historical events of the XXth century, except some middle eastern conflicts.

I came here expecting poster "Atheist" to be exposed. Disappointed.

Yes and no, you first have to define your terms.

Any kind of dancing that isn't in worship is sinful. So if you've ever gotten down and felt the groove, it was all Satan's work.

This has to be a troll thread...a Ripskater -esque troll thread...

Well to be fair, in present day, Christians have become Zionist lapdogs. So it does seem contradictory at first glance.

TS ignored the Spanish inquisition, passion plays, centuries of Christian anti-semitism against Jews - all of which laid the groundwork for the anti-semetic ferver that allowed the holocaust to take place.

"I got a ferver
And the only prescription
Is more holocaust"

- Hitler

Always wondered if your name is based on Oswald Spengler? Started reading The Decline of the West, seems pretty interesting.

So Hitler openly says he's a Christian, then he behind closed doors says he doesn't like the church? You do realize that not liking the church has nothing to do with his stance of being a christian don't you?

These types of logical malfunctions you fundies have should get embarrassing at some point.

The best part of the whole Hitler debate is that it's always the religitards that bring him up like saying he's an Atheist makes Atheism bad or Christianity good. It doesn't, Hitler was an evil prick that happened to be Christian and used Christian dogma to promote his causes. The only point to be made here is that Christian doctrines can and do get used to support evil deeds and that is something you just cannot do if you don't have any doctrines, as Atheism has none.

No True Scotsman is often used a little frivolously to the point that you could contest someone being born in India as being Scottish or you'd be guilty of the fallacy.

We understand what makes a Scotsman, but without defining what a Christian is, the objection is meaningless.

Egon Spangler was a ghostbuster.

Of course evil deeds can be perpetrated without the use of religious doctrine. Off to the soviet Gulags with you!

Also, the Germans were a humiliated people at the time desperate for leader. There are a lot of dynamics around people following a leader.

Hitler also never said anything about a Holocaust. The people didn't know about such things.

Sure, but just because someone is Atheist doesn't mean they are immune to doctrines.

I'd think a Christian is someone who believes in Jehovah and the follows the Holy Bible and it's laws, and believe the Bible is God's word. But many are either incapable of doing their own research, or think their version of God's word works and everything is open to interpretation. Everyone is different, some think science and evolution work with God's design, and others think it contradicts and is blasphemous. I never lump all into one group.

They can have doctrines but they are not linked to the stance that they don't believe in a god.

On the other hand, you cannot believe the god of Abraham without having doctrines and for the most part those are outdated, obsolete, and disgusting doctrines made by bronze aged goat herders.

I always thought people weren't proper Scottish until they knew who Ewen Bremner was

That's the inherent problem with invoking the NTS on such an ideology, because it is defined several ways, not unlike feminism. For some it is those who believe in Christ. For others it is those who are self-professed Born Again. And still for others it is those who act like Christ. If you don't nail down a definition, the objection becomes redundant.

This objection aside, the meta-beliefs of so-called evil people should not be examined in a vacuum, there are obviously other factors at play.
