Google Stadia and other game streaming platforms will be a big test for this. ISPs adjusted to 4K streaming demands before the law was changed. This will be a new, large adjustment that needs to be made but they’ll have more flexible options in how they monetize their services.

The stream caps are the main reason that I don't stream. When they killed Net Neutrality, all hope went out the window.

We were told world war three would start and we’d all die
Somehow those people seem to have been wrong and have all just gone silent on it

    Lol

You were instantly smacked down, so you switched from "what you said could happen hasnt happened" to "World War 3 didn't happen."

Because, as we all know, that's how low the bar is for Republican policies: if it doesn't instantly kill the entire human race, it's a smashing success that totally pwns the libz.

Also, the issue is still being litigated. Even if WW3 were the imminent result, we still wouldn't be into invasion of Poland territory yet.

I should’ve figured there wouldn’t actually be any discussion about net neutrality in here. Beat away! The straw man must fall!

What does this even mean? I stream literally everything I watch, across multiple devices in the house simultaneously with no issues. I don't know what was supposed to happen, but I gotta agree with OP that nothing has changed. No price increases, no stream slowdowns, no channels stripped, nothing.

    Yet.

C'mon man, they just opened to floodgate on the ISP's bending us over like the "Bring out the Gimp" scene in Pulp Fiction. They just unzipped their pants and the other guy has gone to the store to get pump Lava soap for lube.

    BOHICA man.... B.O.H.I.C.A.

Most of Europe doesn't really have freedom of speech and they seem to be getting buy fine (for now)... let's get rid of that next.

Also, last I checked my netflix subscription prices have risen higher in the last year than they ever have before.

ISP's are more likely to put the cost onto the content creators instead of the consumers. So as consumers we'll feel the pinch more as the cost of those individual services increase, not our internet bills.

My primary concern with rolling back the law is not consumers being fleeced, but more about giving an advantage to those who are already winning. With Google Stadia, for instance, I worry about smaller companies in the same space being able to compete. Google can now theoretically pay ISPs a premium for premium service, where smaller companies won't be able to bid as high. That all but ensures Google/Apple/large-corporation success over smaller rivals, since the service relies on high bandwidth & fast speeds. This limits options for consumers, and drives up the price of services.

It's not "omg WW3!" or whatever hyperbole the chronic overreactor in the OP wants people to think. But there are some real concerns, and undoing net-neutrality was a solution to a problem that did not exist. ISPs were already free to charge you based on your usage, and almost every ISP already had tiered data packages for the consumer to choose from.

To be fair, that could very much just be because they're facing other issues. Their profits are falling, and they're losing a lot of unoriginal content to Disney, HBO, etc. They're going to have to focus more on original content, and increasing prices could be their way of plugging the small hole. At least, the company hasn't stated that they're raising prices due to ISP agreements afaik.
