Neil Magny goes 3 and 2 with win over Tim Means

Didn't think Magny would be in the UFC more than 2 fights after TUF. He looks really improved in that Tim Means fight. Used his reach really effectively, picked his shots, mixed in his wrestling which looked better as well. He never really let Tim Means get started, really impressive performance.

Grudge Training Center is definitely helping the guy improve.

There was a bunch of bums on these board criticizing him for his performance..

Thought he showed a lot of skill and technique. Definitely used his reach a lot better than Jones did without any eye pokes. But I liked Jones approach as well with his muay Thai, his boxing style just isn't as crisp

Magney had some of the longest arms i have ever seen, he could be the next jon jones with that reach if he keeps training and learns how he does it better.

its potential you have to look at with a guy like magney, he has a ton of potential, much more then the eventual winner of his season... colton smith.

Potential champion possibly. who knows though, anything can happen in the ufc, there is a slight chance he wont get to the title, but who knows.

I just can't watch guys where it looks like they are just in a sparring match. Hell, being a guy who trains casually (used to do it seriously) I have seen sparring sessions with more fire than that fight

I can't believe he's already had 5 UFC fights. They've all been so.. unmemorable?

Slight chance? He's got a very long ways to go still before even thinking about a potential title fight.

hahaha, i meant there is a slight chance he will get a ufc title.

This is true. I was watching the Joe Rogan fight podcast during Fight Night Cincinnati and they had Brendan Schaub on who trains with Magny and he flat out said the guy has absolutely no killer instinct and he treats the game more like an actual game and point system than a fist fight. I'm sure with some more training he can tap into some KO power and use that length to pull in some subs. He's still learning, very green. Not a lot of fights in his career and 5 of them have been in the biggest promotion in the sport.

Means was pissed at the decision obviously. He left the octagon before Buffer finished yelling Magny was the winner, lol.

U are clueless

And just because u 'spar' doesn't make you any more credible

Thought magny did well, seems to be improving fast, nice mix of td's, taking a fight on short notice and winning decisively is always good

Btw means left early because he was upset wit his OWN performance, not the decision, dude did nada whole fight

Means took fight on short notice.

Means should have won that fight, but Magny had too much 'on top' time to get the win under the unified system...

Magny dropped Means. Magny deserved the win, Means didn't do shit and couldn't stop the takedown do damage on the feet.

He's exceeding expectations but I just don't care to watch Magny fight.
He's got a huge reach, and that's it. He's the epitomy of a point-fighter, he throws long strikes with little power behind them, keeps the other guy at arm's length and has great cardio. That's it, he never goes for the finish and I don't think he's capable of a finish to be honest.

He's improved since TUF but it doesn't change that he's the dullest fighter in the UFC. Boring fighter with no personality.

Magny is improving. Everybody in here is just pissed he dominated a vet like Means when he's like 13 fights into his career and means is 27
