Need some help finding a gym (korea)

Hey guys ive done some searching and havent come up with much, right now im stationed in gunsan south korea (kunsan ab) and all ive been able to find so far is tae kwon do places. can anyone recommend a good muy thai or kickboxing gym? Just looking for some where to train without gis

If you're in Kunsan that means TKD...and A-town. There's a nice bowling alley there too.

But Muay Thai? Not so much. In Kunsan I mainly just took advantage of the cleaner air and did a lot of outdoor training and roadwork.

The TKD in actual Korea is different than in the states. Most of the stuff there (circa 12-13 years ago) I found was more legit and full contact. So you might be alright from that respect. While I trained with a few of the locals in Song Tan City in the TKD, Hapkido, and Kung Fu; I'm sure you can find something there in Kunsan that's good.

haha yea a-town....always a bad idea. thanks for the info ill look into the tkd gyms if i cant find anything. the gym here on base is really nice though rock wall etc

Yea man. I got bruised up just being "demonstrated on". They were intent on showing me how much better their martial arts were--kept trying to do kicks that they thought I couldn't do.

But it was fun and definitely upped my understanding of real ROK TKD. Not anything like the sport crap and things we see in the states. Sadly, the food in Korea is better than these crappy Korean restaurants in the states too.

what about the kyuk too ki(spelling?) I saw a tape on them kind of a hybrid of tkd, kickboxing and muay thai from the looks of it. Dont know how popular it is or where it can be found in korea though.

All I know of semi close to there is Sky gym in Gwangju. Our team should be back from Singapore so I'll be able to ask them about gyms closer to your area.
