Hey guys...so here's the deal...I did put a lot of time into this...not to bore you, but because I really need opinions from more experienced people.

I've been taking my boxing training seriously for the past 2 years or so, and with many things in life, I find myself using my left and right hand for. For some perspective...I hold a hockey stick left handed, I swing golf clubs right handed, I hold a fork right handed, when I'm not using utensils I prefer to grab and hold food with my left hand...etc and I DO write with my right hand...but have been using my left a little to develop dexterity in the motion of writing...assuming it will help my boxing...

In the gym...my coach started me as orthodox based on the fact that I am right handed in writing...so I stuck with it for a while...but on my own I find myself switching to southpaw...this is how I break down my performance on each side...and I was wondering how you guys would advise me. I will likely stick to orthodox since my coach said it, but I don't want to be blind to my inklings...

ORTHODOX:
The HANDS: In orthodox, I find my hand speed is good, my jab is quick with decent snap, my right cross is very good, my left hook is...decent, my overhand right is...pretty good, don't throw it a lot...my right hook I feel is on par with my straight right hand but my coach says never throw right hooks since it leaves you open...I don't know about that...to throw away one punch if I feel I can throw it with power and speed...but I listen...

THE FOOTWORK: My footwork..is not good in this stance, I find it very hard to punch on the move and when I'm moving fast I can't really punch all that well...the hand speed and foot speed...or dexterity I should say do not come together

SOUTHPAW:
THE HANDS: Hand speed is good, my jab is quick and stiff, wouldn't say its snappy, just stiff...different feel. The Left cross is...just ok, right hook is really strong, overhand left....oh boy, fairly bad, left hook...is alright, but I would find it easier listening to my coach say don't throw the wider hook if my left hook was my wider hook...however it still can do some damage

THE FOOTWORK: This is what is getting me...the footwork in my southpaw stance is really good, I don't know why...but I can move really fast and punch at the same time. I can punch while moving, and the hands and feet seem to be seamlessly in sync...

When answering do keep in mind that I scale the footwork and the hands equally...seeing as I am an outside fighter who moves around...A LOT and jabs in a circular motion
Just to note, when I say this shot is strong and such, I mean relative to how I am hitting, I'm not gloating to say I'm hitting like Foreman, it's all relative, not arrogant.

So based on this information, considering BOTH the hands and footwork...what do you guys say...and also...if you could, could you guys give suggestions based on how to improve the bad things in the stance you tell me to stick with...which I guess would be synching footwork and hands in the orthodox stance and getting the straight left hand shots that are decent to be on par with my orthodox equivalents if you suggest southpaw? Thank you guys. Sorry for the length
