Got a part-time job in my BJJ gym and my instructor/boss just gave me a folder full of membership forms and told me to file them.

So now I need a software to file these forms in the computer.

Do you guys know any softwares or links that are free to download? I am at the same time searching through google for databases.

(Uhm, is this the right section to post this? Hehe)

Will appreciate the help guys

Use Excel, then when you're done, set it to read-me status so it can't be editted. This will prevent f-ups when you look through it.

You're going to need to just scan all of them in and figure out the best way to configure the names and folders. That's the easiest route I've done in all the gyms I've been to.

You could create an adobe portfolio with all the scans, but not only would that be huge it would need constant updating.

Do you just need to file the forms, or do you need client management software?

If you want to use a DB program, you probably have MS Access on your computer now (assuming you have MS Office). However, for a list as small as gym memberships, you should just use MS Excel. It'll be much easier, and it's not as if you have hundreds of thousands of records such that you'd need a true DB program.

Haven't used Mind Body but for customer management you need something like that. Spreadsheets and databases are okay but they quickly become unwieldy.

If it's client management you need, mind body is amazing. I can't believe all the shit I used to go through before we got it.

We use MBO too. Its crazy how powerful it is. The only problem we've encountered is being unable to export data to Quickbooks or another financial program.

Excel will work. Anything past 200 entries, you'll probably want to use something else. I've used Act! before, and it was ok. Used it when I was working at a pharmacy. We had like over 500 entries on it, and it worked fine. I don't think it has any subscription/monthly fees associated with it, and it's a pretty old program so it's stable and work well.

I did everything hard copy before that, with in house billing on a CAT. Mindbody makes it so now all I do is chillax now.
