Kind of like wavemaster but lower so I can work low kicks too. Anyone know of any decent ones? Cheers.

I use one like that (mine is Ikon brand) in my garage for conditioning. I mainly work punching combos on it since I do enough kicking at the gym. So far it's held up for 4-5 years (first couple years were TKD and I didn't hit it much). However if you become a heavy kicker you'll most likely break it after some time, that or wear it down really bad. We have some at my gym that are so worn down (the foam inside) that you can kick straight through and feel the plastic pole in the center. Oh and people will probably tell you they move around a lot, but that's not a problem if you move around it. I have a 10' x 10' matted area in my garage and I can keep it in the center mat (3.3' x 3.3') by moving around it.

I just noticed you live in Ireland. Check out these different sites to see which has cheaper shipping.

This is a European company, I actually ordered a headgear from them because Fairtex was backordered, I was happy with their service

The wave master XXL is rubish.

I've got one and I wish I didn't. The cover of the bag is spliting at the bottom because kicks pull the cover. I've got it filled with sand and it still rattles all over the fuckin place. I thought it would stay grounded for strikes at least, but no.

I bought it for something to hit at home because I live in apt now, but the thing bangs so fucking loud I can't even use it because I've got neighbors under me. Get a hanging bag if at all possible. These things suck!!

I have a punchbag in my bedroom, it's ok for punches but I really dont have the space for kicking, or to really punch properly. It's a stupid box bedroom.

I'm looking for something I can put out my back garden. A free standing bag would be handy, as I could just put it in my shed when I'm done and take it out. I'd leave a normal bag out there - but I wouldn't be able to bolt it to a wall I don't think. I might be able to get one of those stands but I think the rain would rust the shit out of it :(

xxl wavemasters are decent imo. It's not perfect, but there is no perfect training device known to man yet. yes you can work low kicks on it as long as it's above the knee. it's pretty hard to knock down, since i havent done it yet,

if you don't have a partner, you may have to re-move the bag to the center of your yard after awhile. hopefully you have cover for it, because rain's probably not too good for the material.

Avoid any other kinds of wavemasters because they break easily, and you'll just knock it down and have to pick it up.

I have a wavemaster for boxing... not one of the long ones that falls over easy. I like it alot but it's too small for me. I'm 6'1, maybe 6'2, and this punching bag makes me have to punch down or bend more. Does anyone know anything I can do to make it higher? I can't buy a heavy bag but I can still use one in the gym.

guess i should ask in here then. Anyone know a good UK company that i can order a heavy bag from? a wall/bracket mount one that is also quiet long for kicks aswell. I want something heavy mind, and im having NO luck what so ever. I've also heard about bags you can water fill that can be heavier and give more of a natural feel, are these worth looking into?

Any sites that can give a heavy bag (100lb+ preferably) would be nice, and information on heavy water bags or whatever they are called. (UK only, found loads of US ones but cant find the same items over ehre in the UK)

also; should i go for a heavy bag or a thai bag? i want to train kicks just as much as i do punchs but thai pads seem to give a smaller punching surface and look lighter, would a water filled thai bag be any good?

Adam, I recently found this site for the UK and Ireland: http://www.pad-up.com/

Should sort ya out buddy.

I don't think I'll knock over the wavemaster as I'm only 145lbs.. I think I should be safe with it. Thanks guys..

There's no reason you can't kick a regular punching bag (you just will be kicking higher), but it will sway a lot more than a thai bag. Also thai bags are usually just touching the ground so the move very little.
