Neck Strengthening (for grappling and injury prevention)

Check out the vids under "neck, jump stretch" at youtube. Not real strength exercises, but I got rid of chronic neck pain with this stuff.

Hey guys, don't mean to commit thread necromancy, but I can't make new threads due to the dubs.

Might anyone tell me what I can do for neck muscle pain? It used to be permanent but after some massaging it now only comes with activity but it is damn painful. What should I do to alleviate it and make sure it doesn't come back?

I did. He said it was nothing relating to nerves or bone stuff so that I was fine. It was basically the muscle that was acting up.

He suggested only general stuff, though. nothing specific. I was thinking along the lines of exercises and other things that you guys have done which would work with it.

I don't want a jacked neck.
 
See a physical therapist. Try to find one that specializes in sport injury. They will help you stretch it, strengthen it, and work out any knots.

I've suffered for over 4 years and am finally recovering.
