I wonder if Rousey is fighting Eye next then. I wouldn't mind.

40% is a good number, their marketing department chose well.

It's big enough so that a woman doesn't feel weird being a part of it, small enough that she feels special.

I rarely see women on this site, let alone 40%, so I highly doubt the stats and feel like they are feeding us bullshit. Don't believe everything you here.

This should read 40% of UFC fans forced to watch romantic comedies on friday.

And 40% of the posters here reflect that..

I think it has been proven that the Sherdog majority is a very very very small minority.

FS1 viewership breakdown (as I said) is 30%.
So saying "nearly 40%" is not crazy.
That means one stat came in at 36% or over (could be social media, that more females use than guys)

They're jumping the gun here IMO. It remains to be seen if the UFC can successfully convert all those hundreds of thousands of new Rousey fans to UFC fans.

A smart marketing move right now would be hyping the hell out of the SW division while Rousey is away in Hollywood.

Should have gone with a slightly more believable number ... say 20%.

Even if that were true, there would be more than the 0.003% of females posting here than there currently is.

The UFC recieves pretty exact info on their social media accounts in regards to the demographics of their fanbase.

Sherdog seems to be surprisingly behind on these things.

seems like Sherdog is 40% women as well based on their bitching and whining

Or else the typical fan, and especially the typical female fan, doesn't post to Sherdog?

And perhaps many females that have checked out this board in the past have concluded it was not a woman-friendly, or WMMA-friendly, environment?

How many UFC fighters even feel welcome here?

You can go view their Facebook posts and see tons of women commenting on their posts.

Facebook, Twitter and Google are a hell of a lot of a better indicator of actual casual fan base(the ones who actually buy ppvs) than Sherdog.
